Okay– so I have now made every single type of homemade pudding known to man! 🙂 My newest creation is homemade vanilla pudding! YUM!
- ¾ cup sugar
- 4 tablespoons cornstarch
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
- 3½ cups of milk
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- Combine sugar, salt, and cornstarch in a saucepan.
- Whisk in milk, and egg yolks, Cook over medium high heat, stirring constantly for 3-5 minutes or until thickened.
- Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and butter. Whisk until butter is melted.
- Cover with plastic wrap for storage. To prevent a skin or film from forming be sure to place plastic wrap up against the pudding, not just over the top of the bowl.
- Serve warm or cold.
It is so easy to make and my hubby says it has a custardy taste to it. He said it was “da bomb”! 🙂 Got a 2 thumbs up from everybody!
Here is the recipe. Remember that if you let it cool off, place plastic wrap over the top so that it does not create a film.
