This week has been a pretty awesome week for me. I’ve been reading a great book that has some serious encouragement if you want to be a writer. it’s by Jeff Goins and it is called — You Are a Writer (so start acting like one). This book has just spoke volumes to me. Here is one of the quotes I created from the book.
And on that note — I did something a couple of weeks ago that I didn’t tell anyone I did. I submitted an essay to the Living Well Spending Less Secret 13 Essay and was chosen as one of the 12 finalists! I’m pumped about that 🙂 I guess that means I do have something to say — right? You can read it here.
I also found out that I will be attending a Disney press trip in May to cover the movie Tomorrowland. I can’t wait to head out! I will have more info for you about that soon, so be on the watch for that.
Spring has sprung around here and my daughter was able to capture the new bulbs on the trees. This is just beautiful —
I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about writing lately. I will be sharing my thoughts this week on this topic. So much is in my heart to share with you all and I have been doing a lot of redesigning my site and social media accounts to match that new passion that is thriving in my heart.
Some of what I read this week inspired that feeling.
Matthew Jacobson hit the nail on the head for me this week. He basically says that even though your spouse may be acting up and being all crazy like — that’s no sign you need to do it too.
I have been reading a lot from Kristen Oliphant this week. A few of her posts spoke to me — like this one on creative tension vs creative frustration. I have SO been there. Another post she wrote that spoke to me was this one — If your Post Goes Viral are You Ready?
I love this post from The Gift of Writing about what it takes when you can’t control the outcome. It’s one word — very simple.
I can’t wait to try this recipe for Cauliflower Shrimp and Grits. It sounds simply amazing!
I am seriously in love with this post from Rachel Wojo about ditching the pursuit of perfection.
Chatting With the Sky has a great post on knowing when it’s time to take a break. #2 & #3 are definitely on my list.
I have discovered that I am an emotional eater. I read a post from My Fitness Pal on how to break up with Emotional Eating. They offer some great tips here.
