Once a week our family tries to have a game night. We were recently introduced to The Reel Script – a game for teens and families from the company Simply Fun.
You may remember that a couple of weeks ago, I introduced you to Simply Fun — a company that has families best interest at heart when it comes to playing games. They even have games that are great for kids who have autism.
So — Simply Fun wanted me to try out one of their games to see what our family thought about it — and they sent me The Reel Script.
If you are into drama or movies — you will LOVE this game. It is based around building your own movie script.
Bid for script line tickets to create your script. Pitch your script out loud to the other players. Earn points for your script plus vote for the player with the best script.
This game is great for homeschoolers because it helps build up imagination, story telling, and elements of a plot (which if you teach literature– you know how important this element is).
So – when you first pull this game out of the box, there are a lot of parts, so it can feel intimidating. Don’t let it be. Just pull everything out, get it unwrapped and follow the instruction booklet.
If you try to play this game without the instructions the first few times, you will be a bit confused. After playing a couple of rounds, you quickly get it and it starts go faster and seems like a very fun game.
The Reel Script game includes —
- 270 Script Line Tickets
- 5 Bidding Boards
- 5 Movie Reels
- 1 Reel Board
- 100 Bidding Tokens
- 5 Voting Tokens
- 5 Screens
- 1 Rules Booklet
Why not plan a homeschool teen movie date at your house and then have them play this game while you get the movie meal ready?
It would be the perfect ice breaker for a homeschool teen meeting.
