We are getting ready to get full swing into our last homeschool year. It is bittersweet for me, and my daughter is OVER the moon excited to finally be done with high school.
I have been in the process of organizing our homeschool area, making it easier for her to find things — and that is why I created this super cute central tape organizer using Scotch® Magic™ Tape.
My tape seem to disappear like my pens and pencils, so by creating this central tape station, I never have to worry about it getting lost ever again.
I love being able to have a place where I can access my tape stash at all times. I use a lot of Scotch® Magic™ Tape for everything — posters, art projects, science experiments, cookbook stuff, and taping notes where we can see them.
Here is how I made this super easy DIY project.
First — I went to Walmart to pick up a few different versions of tape and the supplies I needed to make this tape station. You can find all the tape in either the seasonal section or in the stationery section.
While I was in the tape section I grabbed some fancy sparkly decorator’s tape too — and a handy dandy tape dispenser for my desk — because the other one went missing –seriously.
The orange basket I picked up on the aisle that has all the cheap decorative things. I got it for $1.
Then, I picked up a small dowel rod and my sparkly roll of decorator tape.
I started by measuring my gold sparkly tape to cover the inside bottom of my tape center.
If you turn your basket over and measure from the underside, you get a more accurate measurement.
Then, remove the backing and place all along the inside bottom of your basket. Once you do that, then you can go along the edge inside to cover your edges to make it look more uniform.
You can cover the whole entire thing if you want, but I kind of like the contrast of orange and gold together.
Once you get your gold tape on, then take your dowel rod and put all of your tape rolls onto the dowel rod.
Then run the dowel rod into the holes in your basket.
Then just set it where ever you think it would best be suited for you and your family.
I placed mine on my desk, simply because that is where I most use my tape.
It’s small enough that it will fit on bookcases, shelves, and more. It is the perfect tape center to keep all your Scotch® Magic™ Tape rolls in one place. This would even make a great handmade gift to give a teacher!
