I don’t know about you, but when I turned 40, there were all kinds of things that happened to my body that had not been so before. I started gaining weight really bad, my skin got super dry and wrinkled, acne started popping out everywhere, chin hairs and lip hair showed up (can we all just pray that this stops when we get older), and my hair lost its beautiful shine from the previous year.
The day I noticed how flat and dull it looked was the day I knew I was going to do something about it. When, iFabbo reached out and asked me if I wanted to review Keranique Volumizing shampoo and conditioner, I said yes. I was on the hunt for something new to help me get my shine back and based on the reviews I had already read, I decided to give it a try.
A few weeks ago, my package arrived so I set out using it to see if it could do what it said it would really do.
Now, for those of you who don’t know me, I have naturally thick hair, and when I say thick — I am serious — it is THICK. But what it lacks is volume. My thick hair just lays to my head, so I wanted something that would make it have a little oomph once I flattened it as well as keep it looking shiny and healthy.
The thing I noticed right off the bat is the stimulation that you get when using both the shampoo and conditioner. It has a product that leaves your scalp feeling tingly and freshly clean.
I really like that feeling and it hits the moment you start washing and doesn’t leave until your hair is fully dry.
The shampoo is super thick, almost like a paste, so when you put it on, you have to add water to get your lather going, but once you do, it lathers well.
The conditioner is clear and easy to apply and leaves your hair feeling silky afterwards.
I have been using it now for almost a month. I wash my hair about 3 times a week and it has really helped it to look more youthful again.
I did notice that some people shared in the reviews that it weighted their hair down, but I have not noticed that. What I have noticed is that it seems a bit more defined and volumized than before. Maybe it’s just me, but I am seeing a slight difference.
I am going to continue using it for a little while longer to make my full assumption, but as of right now, my hair feels pretty good.
What about you? Have you ever used Keranique before? Do you have issues with thinning hair? Why not give it a try?
