Daylight savings time just happened and losing that extra hour can cause you to feel a little out of sorts. I know it does for me. Because of that, today I am sharing 10 tips for boosting your energy.
It’s Motivation Monday and today we are talking about all kinds of ways you can boost those horrible energy levels. I use these tips regularly and it definitely helps me combat those sleepy moments during my day.
Boosting my energy has been a priority in my life recently because I have just been SO tired. I have been combating it by using essential oils as well as doing a few things to help increase both my mood and my energy levels.

10 Tips for Boosting Your Energy
#1 — A Midday Workout
When you work out, it helps relieve anxiety and stress, but did you know it also gives you energy? That’s why they suggest you never work out in the evening time. It gets blood flow pumping to the body and when your blood is flowing properly, your energy levels rise.
Instead of working out first thing in the morning, try for a midday workout — a brisk walk on the treadmill, some strength training or something like that.
#2 — Stretching
Have you ever wondered why people who do yoga and practice stretching and deep breathing seem to have a little more energy than most? That is because when you breath deep from the diapraghm, you reenergize your muscles and your mind that will help you fight off sleep or anxiety.

#3 — Invigorate With Essential Oils
If you have an essential oils diffuser, you can diffuse anything with citrus which wakes up your mood, and uplifts. I diffuse peppermint and orange all the time when I am needing a mood uplift.
If you don’t have a diffuser, no worries! Just put a drop of each in your palm and then rub them together. Then cup your hands and breathe in. You will be amazed at how it wakes you up.
#4 — Get Outside
If you are really low on energy, put on those tennis shoes and get outside and go for a walk! Just walking for 10 to 20 minutes and breathing in fresh air will boost your energy levels and make you feel better.
I mean, who couldn’t use a dose of Vitamin D? I know I could.
#5 — Eat Smaller and More Frequent Meals
Food is fuel for your body, so if you are not eating like you should, your moods and your energy level will plummet. You should eat smaller meals more often.
For example — toast and berries for breakfast, a meal replacement shake in the midday ( I love the Slim and Sassy Shakes from doTERRA). Then for lunch, I eat a salad. Around 3pm, I will have an apple and a bit of peanut butter, and then for dinner I will have a light supper.
For an evening snack, frozen grapes are best!
#6 Get an AromaTouch Massage
One thing I do for myself every month is allow myself the gift of a deep tissue massage. Working on the computer causes me to carry a lot of stress and anxiety in my shoulders. Using aromatherapy with essential oils or massage oils will remove that tension so that my energy levels don’t go down.
This will help you re-center and reduce your stress.
#7 — Take Energy Supplements
If your diet is lacking in the proper nutrients to build your energy levels, it might help to take supplements that will boost your mood and energy levels.
Two of my favorites are the Daily Nutrient Pack from DoTERRA and the Mito2Max supplement.
#8 — Drink LOTS of Water
Not staying hydrated is a bad thing all around. Your skin looks haggard, you feel sluggish, and you can easily dehydrate yourself.
The amount of water you should be drinking daily depends on how much you weigh. Simply take your weight — mine is 178 — and divide that in half. The number you come up with is the amount of ounces you should be drinking a day.
So for me, I should be drinking around 90 ounces of water per day.
Excuse me for a minute while I go chug a bottle of water.
#9 — Sleep is SO Important
Did you know that you lose the most calories and your body does its best healing work while you sleep? For adults, we should be getting between 7 to 9 hours of sleep per night.
This is one I need to work on more myself. I only get about 6 and a 1/2. No wonder I am so tired during the day!
#10 — Power Naps are BOSS!
There is a reason that Michael Hyatt takes a nap every single day. It boosts energy levels and moods like you wouldn’t believe!
A quick midday nap of about 10-20 minutes can rejuvenate you and get your energy levels and moods back on track.
