Anytime my family and I head out on the town – it doesn’t matter where we go, I always make sure to take my camera. I mean, you never know when you are going to run upon a building that has some of the best bones and structures you have ever seen.
When my husband and I visited the Shaker Village recently, we were on our way to dinner and as we stepped out of the East Dwelling, I turned around and those doorways just got my attention. The beautiful yellow, the rustic looking wood – it made me really start paying attention to the beauty of old buildings.
Whenever we were down in Gulf Shores recently, I grabbed my camera on an impromptu day out and found these bricks to just be captivating – the way the white grabbed ahold of the red.
Old buildings offer beauty like you have never seen if you look at it from a different perspective. The best way to shoot these though is in manual mode where you can control the aperture from each shoot.
Old buildings are beautiful if shot from another angle, standing far back, and if the lighting is dark, you will need to adjust to accommodate that – so be sure and learn all about how your camera works.
