Seriously, what is there to do in Jakarta? Jakarta is an incredible city from what I have heard. Measuring 662 square kilometers and consisting of over 30 million people (in the greater Jakarta area) exploring this megacity can be an adventure waiting to happen. All you need is a great place to stay and a few fun things that will make your stay there memorable.
I am always looking for unique places to visit and hopefully in the next few years I will get to create my own adventures with my husband and travel outside of the United States. Indonesia has always been one of those places on my bucket list, and now that I know about Jakarta, I believe that it will be first on my list to travel and explore.
For starters, you need to make sure you have a good hotel secured. The hotel ibis Jakarta offers not only a beautiful view, but there are also some hotel Ibis Jakarta best deals to help you save money as well.
I looked online at this hotel and was blown away with how beautiful it is. The decor is vivid and colorful and they offer so many amazing amenities that you will definitely want to stay here when you travel to Jakarta.
Choosing the perfect vacation is important — and that is why I am sharing these 3 fun things to do. Hopefully you will agree with me and take yourself on a trip to Jakarta as well.
Take a Food Tour
Many foods now common throughout Asia originated in Jakarta, including satays and sambal, and Indonesian cookery is a melting pot of spices, coconut milk and the omnipresent peanut sauce.
The Menteng neighborhood in central Jakarta, famous for its Indonesian restaurants, is the best place to try these authentic dishes. Bunga Rampai and Tugu Kunstkring are especially good, and do not miss rendang, a meaty, curry-like stew that is a true local specialty.
Mini Indonesia is a Must See
Jakarta has more than 17,000 islands, which makes it almost impossible to see all of Indonesia. The next best thing is Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (Beautiful Indonesia in Miniature Park), a theme park spanning over 100 hectares (247 acres) on the outskirts of Jakarta, with nearly every island reproduced in miniature around a central lake.
The kids would absolutely love visiting here and seeing every part of Jakarta without having to travel to all 17,000 islands.
We visited something similar like this in the states in Branson when we went to Silver Dollar City, except they did it as seasons and it was awesome.
A Zoo Visit Is Always the Answer
If you really want to have a lot of fun, then you must consider visiting the Ragunan Zoo, home to indigenous animals such as the rare Komodo dragon, tapir, Sumatran tiger, banteng (wild ox) and various brightly coloured birds.
Honestly — it’s time to get out of your box and discover everything this world has to offer. If you love to travel, then Jakarta needs to be on your bucket list. It is not only beautiful but it is massive and not seeing it would be a mistake on your part.
