When I was younger — and before kids, my favorite way to celebrate the New Year was to hit the club and dance until the ball dropped in New York. Now, 20+ years later, my favorite way is by huddling up under a blanket, with a delicious comfort food dinner, watching my favorite shows on Netflix and ringing in the new year with my favorite people.
Over the course of 2016, Netflix has added some great movies and original series — some of which I have really enjoyed.
I thought I would give you a run down on a few of those, so you can spend New Years Eve and New Years Day just enjoying your family and resting and relaxing before the chaos of 2017 grapples upon you and I both.
My Favorite Netflix Titles of 2016
#1 Fuller House
During the first season, I fell in love with the Tanners all over again — and when I binge watched all of season 2 recently — I knew this was going to be a series that I continue to watch.
I cannot thank Netflix enough for creating this series. And — I got the best Christmas gift ever — they announced season 3 is coming in 2017!
Be sure to check out their New Year’s Eve Countdown if you want the kids to go to bed a bit early.
Okay — seriously — this is not a movie, but this is the best thing on Netflix. I have run this while I am writing, reading, or just wanting some calm moments and it definitely has done the job.
The holiday music being played just really brings all the Christmas and New Year season together.
After reading Victoria this year, I was excited to find this Netflix original to ring in the New Year with. I am only a few episodes in and I am LOVING it. You have to check it out.
Speaking of Netflix originals, you and your kids might be interested in TrollHunters — a new series just released last week.
