Amish fiction is one of my favorite genres to read, but as much as I love Barbara’s writing, this book just could not hold my attention. I did finish it because I am reviewing it.
While the story is great and I love when an Amish character is given the choice to join the church or leave the community, I felt that the romantic spark was missing from this story line. It could have been because this was the 3rd book in the series, and I have yet to read the first two.
I did feel that the author could have added a little more dynamic to the plot and offer a few more obstacles as for me, that is what really builds on in a book.
That said, if you like very lighthearted stories with an easy romance, you will truly love this book. For me, my personal preference is I like a little more struggle than what Barbara offered.
About Home to Paradise
Highly anticipated final book in The Coming Home Series from best-selling Amish author Barbara Cameron.
Rose Anna Zook has watched her two older sisters marry two Stoltzfus men and has always thought she and John, the third Stoltzfus brother, would marry, make a home together, and have children.
