I am super pumped that my first travel adventure of the year is with Marshall and all the fun bloggers who attend the Disney/Pixar press trips. 🙂 These have always been once in a lifetime events for me and this time, I am going to be attending the Cars 3 Press event with 24 other amazing bloggers.
Like I said, these trips are always memorable and have always been one of my favorite things about being a blogger. You may remember a few years ago when I posted about getting to meet my all time heart throb since those Facts of Life days — none other than George Clooney 🙂 When that man smiles, the whole room comes to a pause y’all!
I am pumped about attending my first Pixar event and as always, Marshall and the Disney team plan epic adventures.
San Francisco Itenerary
Here is a little of what I will be doing while I am there.
Monday March 27
I will be arriving in San Francisco on Monday March 27th, where that evening I will attend a reception at Pixar with footage from CARS 3 (opening in theatres on 6/16) and a screening of the short film LOU.
An unseen creature in a school’s lost-and-found bin helps teach a bully a lesson in Lou, a six-minute short directed by Dave Mullins, produced by Dana Murray and showing in front of Pixar’s next feature film, Cars 3.
Tuesday March 28th
On Tuesday, I am super pumped about this! We will be attending the press day at the Sonoma Raceway for CARS 3 including interviews with Director Brian Fee, Producer Kevin Reher and various animators (fingers crossed for Owen Wilson and Larry the Cable Guy!)
And here’s the best part! I am going to take a lap around the racetrack in a real race car, learn how to quickly change out a tire at a pit stop and go on a tour of the garage.
I remember my first ride in a race car with a legend and let me tell you — it is nothing but exhilarating to say the least!
That evening, I will also get to screen the upcoming Disneynature film BORN IN CHINA (opening in theatres on 4/21)!
Pandas, snow leopards and more in a Disneynature film? I am definitely bringing my tissues 🙂 Y’all know me and my leaky eyes when it comes to animals.
Disneynature, in its ongoing quest to bring the natural world to the big screen as never before, presents its most ambitious project to date, taking moviegoers on a grand journey into the wilds of China. “Born In China” follows the adventures of three animal families — the majestic panda, the savvy golden monkey and the elusive snow leopard.
Featuring stunning imagery, the film navigates the vast terrain—from the frigid mountains to the heart of the bamboo forest—on the wings of a red-crowned crane, showcasing remarkably intimate family moments captured on film for the first time ever.
See Born in China opening week and Disneynature will make a donation in your honor to World Wildlife Fund to benefit wild pandas and snow leopards.
Born in China opens in theaters on Earth Day – April 21!
Wednesday March 29th
On Wednesday I will be heading back to Pixar to learn all about Pixar in a Box .
Pixar in a Box is a behind-the-scenes look at how Pixar artists do their jobs. You will be able to animate bouncing balls, build a swarm of robots, and make virtual fireworks explode.
The subjects you learn in school — math, science, computer science, and humanities — are used every day to create amazing movies at Pixar. This collaboration between Pixar Animation Studios and Khan Academy is sponsored by Disney.
Then later we will follow that up with a special screening of the series premiere episode of “The Toy Box,” the ultimate toy-competition series.
This series will provide talented designers with the chance of a lifetime: an opportunity to bring their toy concept to life with industry-giant Mattel and to the shelves of Toys ”R” Us the day after the series finale.
Inventors present their toy concepts to a group of mentors that include Pixar Creative Director of Consumer Products Jen Tan, who hopefully I will get to interview after the screening.
The eight-episode series hosted by Eric Stonestreet (“Modern Family”) premieres on Friday, April 7th at 8/7c on ABC.
Oh! We also just received info that on one of these days, we will be screening a REALLY CUTE show!
I will be joining Disney Junior for a special screening of the upcoming animated series “Puppy Dog Pals,” which stars fun-loving pug puppy brothers Bingo and Rolly, whose thrill-seeking appetites take them on adventures in their neighborhood and around the globe.
Whether helping their owner, Bob, or assisting a friend in need, the pugs’ motto is that life is more exciting with your best friend by your side.
Premiering April 2017, the series features two 11-minute stories that showcase Bingo and Rolly’s similarities and differences and demonstrate positive lessons about friendship, problem-solving, collaboration, creativity and adventure. Following the screening, Sean Coyle (executive producer) and Diane Ikemiyashiro (Disney Junior creative executive) will participate in a Q&A.
Once I finish this event, I will then head home to start writing about all the fun I had while there. But don’t worry! You can follow along on all my adventures while there! I will be sharing on
Where I Will Be Staying
While in San Francisco, we will be staying at the beautiful Hilton Garden Inn San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge and you know I will be sharing TONS of photos and info about the hotel.
I am hoping I get a window view of that bridge! Look at that gorgeous view y’all!
Be sure to tune in and watch for all the excitement coming my way at the end of the month.
