I am a fanatic when it comes to my bathroom about it being sparkly clean and fresh smelling. I scrub my toilet at least 3 times a week (don’t judge) and I wipe down the shower at least once a week as well. To make my bathroom smell good though, I make my own DIY Bathroom odor diffusers using simple household ingredients and my favorite lemon essential oil.
I start by using one box of baking soda. If you want to make it fizz in the toilet when you drop it in, you can add citric acid. But if you don’t have it on hand, you can simply just use the baking soda.
For one whole box of baking soda I use 15 drops of lemon essential oil.
Then I start with about 1/4 a cup to 1/2 cup of water and mix together. You only add enough water to make the baking soda mixture stick together like sand.
When you squeeze it, you should be able to make it stick together like this —
Then, using a muffin tin and some cupcake liners, simply spoon your baking soda mixture into each of the liners and press them down with a spoon.
They will form to the cupcake liner. Then allow them to dry for 24 hours.
Once they dry, you can store them in the bathroom in a jar. I just throw them in and let it bubble away the dirt and grime. Then, I clean as I normally would. My compact toilet never looked cleaner!
What about you? How do you keep your bathroom clean? Do you use homemade cleaners like this in your daily routine cleaning?
