The other day I was looking on Pinterest for some healthy recipes, and I came across this one for Peanut Butter Balls. It sounded so good, but I had some different ingredients on hand, so I wanted to try them out and create my very own recipe like this one. I used Almond butter so I labeled mine Healthy Almond Butter Balls.
If you need a yummy, healthy dessert and you are in a pinch for time, this would definitely be a recipe you will want to make. It took me about 5 minutes to throw these together. There is no baking involved or anything — and they are absolutely delicious.
- 1/2 cup creamy almond butter
- 1/2 cup agave nectar
- 3/4 cup nonfat powdered milk
- 3/4 cup quick-cooking oats
- Combine all ingredients in a bowl; mix well. Using your hands, roll the dough into balls about the size of large gumballs. Place on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper, and refrigerate until set. Makes about 18 balls.
I am definitely going to be making more of these the next time I need a healthy dessert to take somewhere.
The Nut Butter I used for this recipe
When I made this recipe, I had my choice of different kind of nut butters. Jif sent me all kinds of their new flavors to try, so I knew that the almond butter would be the one that I chose to make this with.
These new nut butters come in either crunchy or creamy. They are no-stir and super delicious! While I have always been a big fan of peanut butter, I am now an even bigger fan of almond and cashew butter.
