Best Ever Slow Cooker Beef Stew

Sharing is caring!

Best Ever Slow Cooker Beef Stew made with tender chunks of beef, loads of vegetables and a simple mixture of broth and spices that yields the easiest and most delicious beef stew ever!

When your husband tells you that you have the best ever slow cooker beef stew and it is better than his favorite (which happens to be Dinty Moore), you know you have hit upon a recipe that will become a staple in your household!

This recipe has been developed over the course of a few years. I've added a little bit here and a little bit there to make this slow cooker beef stew the best you will ever eat.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew

It's simple and easy to make — more like a throw it in the slow cooker and forget it type of dish. I make it in my Pioneer Woman Slow Cooker that the family got me for Christmas a couple of years ago.

How to Make Best Ever Slow Cooker Beef Stew

Anytime I can make a dish that uses up all of my pantry ingredients, doesn't require a lot of my time and attention, and can help me created a delicious meal — I am all about it.

What makes this dish even better is that it is very budget friendly. I usually like to make this when I find stew meat on markdown. Sometimes, if they have a big chuck roast or a sirloin roast on sale, I will chunk my own up and create stew meat from that.

As I said, this easy beef stew recipe is perfect for when you need a quick weeknight dinner (especially on those nights when ball games are going on).

We don't just eat this during the cold winter months. It's good enough to enjoy all year long — even in the summertime!

I love serving Beef Stew with my Copycat Red Lobster Cheddar Biscuits recipe. They’re super simple to make and SO good! My Parker House Rolls are another option too.

My Fried Apples are great as a side dish or as a light dessert.

For dessert, you can make my Pecan Pie Cake — which has been a HUGE hit on the blog and social media recently. Your family will love this super easy meal.

What do you do with the whole onion and celery stalk please?

My husband does not like them, so as stated in the post, I just remove those and throw them away. If you like them, just chop them up and add it with the carrots and onions.

Do you remove the onion after it's cooked? Or does it fall apart when you stir at the end?

I do because my husband does not like them. But, you can just allow them to fall apart into the juice and mix it in with the meat.

I do love beef stew. I just have to make sure I have the meat on hand. Everything else I typically have.
