Homemade Creamy Coleslaw

Sharing is caring!

Make a batch of this homemade creamy coleslaw to go with your meals this week. Super delicious and it is simple and easy.

The warmer weather is here and with that means all the backyard bbq dinners, baked beans, and homemade creamy coleslaw you will be having — or at least we will.

I finally got my back porch all fixed up and pretty, so now — all it is missing is a brand new grill, which shall be mine before too long.

Everything is finally coming together. I can't wait to share the whole post with you that I am working on beautifying your yard on a budget!

How to Make Homemade Creamy Coleslaw

Okay — so back to the recipe I wanted to share with you today for Homemade Creamy Coleslaw. When I eat BBQ of any kind — whether it is my grilled ribs with spicy peach glaze, my amazing grilled vegetables with a citrus dressing or this Orange Marmalade BBQ Chicken, I have to serve coleslaw with it.

Here is my recipe for this delicious concoction. And please — DO NOT buy that storebought stuff. Making coleslaw dressing is simple and easy.

Here's a Quick Shortcut for Making Homemade Coleslaw

Okay — you can use heads of cabbage and shred it yourself, but for me, I take a shortcut and use bagged coleslaw mix.

Inside the bagged coleslaw mix, you will find shredded cabbage and carrots. In some bags, you can find the tri-color — orange carrots, purple cabbage, and green cabbage.

By using this bagged coleslaw mix, it allows coleslaw to come together quickly—you can just tear open the package, give the mix a rinse, and top with my easy homemade coleslaw dressing.

If a store-bought mix isn't your bag, just thinly slice your choice of green or red cabbage, carrots, and radish.

This coleslaw is so perfect and simple and even tastes great the next day! You don't even have to use storebought mayo. You can make your own homemade mayonnaise.

If you're going to make your own dressing why don't you cut your own cabbage and carrots....quite a simple affair.

When I first created this recipe I was just starting out, but now, I do shred my own. It is SO much easier! Thanks for the tip.
