I got a new cookbook in the mail recently and have discovered SO many delicious recipes that are not only good for me, but they taste good too! My daughter and I made a very flavorful Mango Avocado Salsa from the pages, so I thought I would share this amazing recipe and cookbook with you!
I found this recipe in the pages of Too Hot in the Kitchen – Secrets to Sizzle at Any Age. I was intrigued when I saw the cover, because I am one of those ladies that is always looking for healthier recipes — but I don’t want to sacrifice the flavor.
This cookbook does that for me.
This whimsical women’s lifestyle cookbook, Too Hot in the Kitchen from Holly Clegg, author of the trim&TERRIFIC® cookbook series, makes a great, cheeky gift for the chef, mother, sister, friend or anyone else who needs a little extra sizzle in their life and help in the kitchen. This practical, user-friendly cookbook includes over 200 delicious recipes and 100 color photographs and illustrations.
So let me show you how easy it is to make this delicious Mango Avocado Salsa. I could see me using this on some Shrimp Tacos, or even in a Caribbean Pasta.
Start by chopping up each of your ingredients —
The original recipe did not call for lime zest, but anytime I am juicing a fresh lemon or lime for a recipe, I always include the zest. It just helps punch up the flavor a bit more.
Then once you do that, add it all to a bowl and mix to combine.
I even added in a bit of cilantro too because I loooove cilantro! If you don’t, you can just leave it out.
Then enjoy it on tacos, or like my daughter and I, we used it as a snack while we worked on other recipes yesterday. It was extremely refreshing and was so good.
The 9th book in Holly Clegg’s trim&TERRIFIC® cookbook series, Too Hot in the Kitchen features easy, exciting recipes designed for today’s busy woman – including edible concoctions that are good for your skin, cooking for two, coffee pairing ideas, and the nutritional and diabetic exchange information for each recipe, which is increasingly important to today’s health-conscious consumer.
