This weekend was a whirlwind of food — lots of food and fireworks. We had everything you could think of on the grill, and then some. The family drove about an hour away to a wholesale Fireworks distributor and bought a million fireworks, so we had a blast (no pun intended) and a much needed few days off.
One of the things that we made this past weekend of course, was some of my favorite perfect summer salads. They go great with my picnic recipes (which can be found in this post here). Since salads are some of my favorite, I have included several of my most popular recipes all in one place.
Before you even get into the yummy salads, you have to have a dressing that is OUT of this world. Dressing to me, is what makes a salad taste so scrumptious. My top 3 favorites are —
If you have a Rafferty’s in your area, then you will LOVE this recipe and understand what I am talking about when I say this dressing recipe is a must have in your recipe box.
I use this dressing not only on my salads, but as a marinade on my chicken and beef as well. If you are looking for something a little different than your normal Italian or Ranch dressing, this will make your salads go over the top.
Need I say more? This one has been my most popular recipe dressing ever simply because we all love and swoon over those Olive Garden salads, right? I know I do. I came home after eating there once determined to recreate the recipe. I think I did a great job with that.
Now — for the list of salads. These are all so delicious, easy to make, and frugal on the wallet. You will love every single one.
Crunchy Cabbage Salad
Tomato Basil and Mozzarella Salad
