The theme parks in Florida are one of the things that it’s best known for. Every year, thousands of people flock from all over the world to visit them which is understandable because they’re great fun. But it’s a bit of a shame really because there are so many other great things to do in Florida besides theme parks. If you’ve already done all of the parks, you might not think there’s any point going back there to visit but don’t be so hasty. It’s worth planning another trip in future because Florida has so many great places to stay and things to do.
Everglades National Park
If Mickey Mouse isn’t enough wildlife for you and you’re looking for something a little more exciting, then you should visit the Everglades National Park. It’s a great way to take a break from the hectic theme parks and find something a bit more low key. The beautiful wetlands are largely untouched and the best way to explore them is on a great boat ride. You can see all sorts of amazing wildlife but the main attraction is definitely the world famous alligators. There’s nothing better than seeing them in their natural habitat.
Speaking of boat rides, the best place to take one has got to be off the coast on Miami beach. If you’re looking for boat rental Miami has plenty to offer. Renting a luxury boat and relaxing on the open ocean, soaking up the sun is the perfect way to spend a day. The beaches in Miami are famous for their vibrant party scene as well so if you’re looking for something a bit more grown up than theme parks, it’s the perfect choice.
Kennedy Space Center
Anybody that’s got a keen interest in science and space has got to get down to the Kennedy Space Center. This amazing museum of space travel is home to all sorts of exhibits and old rockets that you can see, and you might even get the chance to meet a real life astronaut. As well as all of the exhibits there are lots of great shows like the interactive Mars experience and simulated space shuttle launches.
Edison And Ford Estates
This is one of the the best historical heritage sites in the country where you can see the homes of famous inventors Thomas Edison and Henry Ford. The estate has since been turned into a wonderful historic heritage site with museums in both of the houses, botanical gardens and a laboratory. It’s also home to one of the largest trees in America that’s been growing there since the 1920’s and now has an impressive 400 ft circumference.
Salvador Dali Museum
If art is your thing, the the Salvador Dali Museum is a must-see attraction while you’re in Florida. Home to collections from and inspired by one of the greatest artists in the world. They also have lots of interactive elements and classes like Yoga at the museum as well.
The theme parks in Florida are great and everybody should visit them at least once, but there’s so much more to Florida than that.
