I know you all have heard me talk and talk about how my husband and I wanted to move closer to the lakes. That is where our heart is–where we have wanted to be for years. I’ve always been afraid of living somewhere else until one day I just finally told Stephen I was ready to move.
We looked forever (like 2 years) and we had never found anything at all. We were starting to feel like it just wasn’t in the cards for us to move. We had prayed, begged, looked at houses but nothing felt right.
So we decided to pray one more time and get a little more specific with God about what we would love to have in a home.
God, we would love to have a 3 bedroom 2 bath home. It needs to have a garage or shed big enough to put Stephen’s tools in Lord. And Lord–Robert would love to have some woods to play in when it gets cold. And God–I hope you don’t mind me asking and I know this sounds selfish, but Stephen would really love to have a pond to fish in. He loves to fish. And God, well–Kayla loves to plan flowers so I would love to have some areas with flower beds so we can make flowers. Uhm–God, I kind of have one more request and I know this is silly, but Lord–I would love to have a bigger kitchen that has a pantry and an island and a dishwasher wouldn’t be bad either. Oh and Lord–if it’s at all possible, can you make it big enough that later we can move Stephen’s mom in with us?
So that sounds kind of silly right? Check out our new home!
This house sits on 3 and 1/2 acres of land and has every single thing that we wanted in a home–down to my tiny request in the kitchen.
You see, God STILL works miracles and it is because of God that we are getting this house. We had no clue it was available. We were contacted by the owner because he had seen an older ad we had posted about looking for a house (no specifics were posted on the ad–just that we were looking for a 3br house).
Every time God does something like this I once again am awed at His love for His children. It reminds me of the verse in the Bible about how if fathers know how to give good gifts to their children then how much more do you think God will give good gifts.
The really cool thing is that when we first heard about this house–we had no money to do anything with. Within days though, God provided our moving money. I was seriously beside myself when it hit home that THIS IS REAL–WE’RE MOVING!!!!
God is God–all the time. Whether He would have ever given us this space or not, I would still serve Him, love Him, and talk about His goodness all the time. But I just had to share how wonderful my Father is for giving me my heart’s desire even though He did not have too. He did it just because. 🙂
Oh–and guess what else? The garage that you see was once turned in to a live in space for someone so it is already set up for that! We are going to convert it into an efficiency apartment for his mother. I can’t wait to decorate it 🙂
