Do you ever feel like you have said “yes” to too many things? I have been there all too often. I am thankful that I have a husband who helps me to say no when everything in me wants to say yes.
However, lately I have been continuing to say yes even though God and my husband both has warned me that I am doing too much. Know what happens when that transpires? I spiral down into a stressed, overloaded situation.
Recent changes in my life are allowing me to be able to cut some things back again, and for that I am thankful. Being so busy has caused me to lose time with my Lord and my family and I do not like it when either of those areas are lacking.
If your life is in overload mode right now, ask yourself these questions:
~Why am I taking on this task?
~Does God really want me doing this or is it me that wants to do this?
~What does my husband think about me taking on this new thing?
~Is anyone being neglected if I take on another task?
~Does this in any way, take time away from my time with God?
Depending on the answers to these questions, you will find the answers to your overloaded lifestyle. Remember–if you are SO busy doing all these things for God, yet you don’t spend time with Him in some way–then all those things are worthless. They may be good things, but the best thing is spending time with the Lord, asking Him to help you choose which things are the best things for you to be a part of. Then you can effectively be of use to Him without causing your life to be overloaded.
