A few weeks ago I told y’all about taking care of myself this year. I feel like I really over-indulged in sweet treats and rich foods over the holidays. In fact, since the holidays — I have gained 12 extra pounds. I need help and I need help fast, so I decided to try out Jenny Craig.
My problem is I am a mindless eater — a boredom eater — and I am having a really hard time breaking that habit. Even if I am not hungry, I find myself going for food.
I hate that I am that way. I knew something needed to be done.
When I was given the opportunity to try Jenny Craig and share my results and thoughts with y’all, I jumped at the chance.
I am so bad at eating right. I don’t know why. I just can’t seem to apply the Food Pyramid to my daily life. Not only do I not know WHAT to eat, my portion sizes are way out of whack. When something tastes good, I want more. And more.
Then I am sick and full and hating myself. I mean really hating myself.
One of the things I love about Jenny Craig is that I can talk to my consultant on a weekly basis. At Jenny Craig, personal support is the cornerstone of what they have been doing for 30 years.
Every member is paired with a consultant who provides them with one-on-one support to identify their challenges and goals, and helps them to create unique weekly meal and activity plans.
Each week, my consultant will work with me on my menu, discuss any challenges from the previous week and determine a plan for the week ahead. Plus, she will keep track of my success with weekly weigh-ins and teach me how to self-monitor.
Even if you don’t live close to a Jenny Craig facility, you can simply go right online and do the Jenny Craig anywhere program and chat with your consultant over the phone.
Right now, I need someone to tell me what to eat and when to eat it. I have more confident in my food choices when I have them already laid out right from the beginning.
Now, I will be honest with you. Some of the meals I was sent I really did not care for. They were hand picked for me without me giving any choices since I am working with them. However, you get to choose all the meals you want and the kinds you want. They have over 100 choices of meals to choose from!
My favorites were the breakfasts. They were always very tasty and filled me up to get me going through the day.
There is a lot of food you eat on this program so you are never hungry. I even took one of the anywhere bars with me to the gym.
I’m excited to see how this adventure ends. Doing this program is all new to me and I am excited about “rebooting” my system.
My consultant told me that members can expect to lose an average of 1-2 pounds per week, which is a healthy range of weight loss.
I hope so, and if you want to keep up with my progress just follow along on Instagram. I will be sharing it there.
How about you? How are you taking care of yourself this year?
