Thanks to Yogabed for sending me a mattress to review. All opinions listed are 100% my own.
Earlier this year I decided I was going to really start taking better care of my health. For me, that started with the fact that I needed to get a good night’s sleep. The fact that at that point I was sleeping on a 15 year old mattress made me understand WHY I wasn’t sleeping good. So I set out to find one that not only could help me sleep great, but would keep my body cool at night (considering all these horrible hot flashes I happen to be having lately).
I am not one for going from store to store to store. I am so over shopping like that, so I set out on Google and typed in best mattress for getting a great night’s sleep — and that was when I was introduced to Yogabed.
I reached out to the good folks at Yogabed and told them what I was looking for and they offered to send me one of their original mattresses to review. I was skeptical — but I said okay. If you are skeptical like me, you can always check sites like Matter Mattress that offers mattress reviews 100% unbiased to help you make the right decision.
A few days later a humongous box arrived on my porch. Inside — a burrito rolled mattress. Mind you, I am thinking — “there is NO way this mattress can be good with it being all wrapped up like this.”
The mattress is super compressed, but don’t worry! It is simple and easy to get out of the box. Once we cut the plastic wrap on it, it unfolded and immediately was ready to put on the bed.
I will say that this mattress is fantastic!
It has a 4 part system which does everything that I needed it to do. Each layer does something different for your body – and when combined together, is supposed to provide a wonderful surface to sleep on. Here is how Yogabed describes each layer in their mattress:
- 1 inch of Yoga Instant Response Foam – for pressure relief and comfort
- 2 inches of Yogagel – designed to cushion and disperse deep compression while keeping things “cool and comfortable”
- 6 inches of breathable foam base – which provides air-flow and support
- 1 inch support base – which they don’t really talk about, but the name is pretty obvious
The yogagel base is my favorite because it helps keep me cool during the night when I tend to have night sweats. Don’t think that this mattress doesn’t have any support — because it does!
Each of those layers offers the perfect support — soft and conforms to your body.
The cover of the Yogabed mattress is super amazing. The one great surprise of this mattress cover is how you can zip off the top of the cover and wash it!
And — when you purchase this mattress, you get two free yoga pillows with it which are so soft and really do a great job supporting the neck.
My mother in law tried this mattress out first and she did not like it. She is pretty heavy — around 325 pounds and when she sat on it, she just sank.
Now — my daughter however, LOVES this mattress. She likes the way it hugs around her and offering her comfort and support.
If you don’t like a soft mattress, then this would not be for you. Overall, the comfort level was good, not great for someone that likes a mattress with a faster recovery. If you like mattresses that are a bit softer and give more hug, then this is a solid option.
Last But Not Least
Right now, Yogabed is having a summer sale and you can get $200 off your mattress or $25 off accessories. That also includes free shipping, so hop on over there by clicking here and check it out.
