Summer is almost over. This year, I am trying to grasp all the time I can with my kids. Our son will be turning 21 in just a few months, and our daughter will be turning 18. Gone will be the days of shrieking laughter and little runny noses, and in its place will be grown kids, new adventures, and new paths for their lives. Here are a few things that we are going to sneak in before the leaves begin falling in our neck of the woods.
1. Road Trip
Our family is headed to Gulf Shores next week in my new car of course 🙂 Driving somewhere with family is always a great way to unwind and get lost in the unknown!
2. Bonfires and Smore's
We will definitely be firing up the fire pit before summer ends and cracking out those delicious marsmallow chocolate goodies!
3. Make Ice Cream
My husband and I don't do a lot of cooking together anymore. We are going to at least make a batch of homemade ice cream together!
4. Sleep In and Have Breakfast in Bed
Life gets crazy hectic for us, so we are going to spend one morning in bed watching mindless television and having breakfast in bed.
Our family LOVES fishing, so we are definitely going to get our fishing poles and head to our local lakes and see if we can catch a bass!
6. Garage Sales!
Yes — my daughter and I are going to hit up some yard sales this year. In fact, I think we might even go to some today. I am pretty excited about that!
7. Make Dinner Together
My family loves dinner, so I thought it would be awesome to get everyone together and have each of us make a component to a meal and do it together!
8. Hit up the Pool
I have been lazy about swimming at the pool this year. Going to change that hopefully for the remainder of the summer.
9. Plant Fall Flowers
My daughter loves to beautify our yard, so after we get back from vacation, I am hoping to help her get our yard all beautiful and fixed up!
10. Sit on the Back Porch at Night
I never sit on my back porch and enjoy the beauty around me. This is on my agenda before summer ends. Just to relax and enjoy all the beauty around me.
Now that you know the 10 things I plan on doing before summer ends — what 10 do you plan on doing?
