Last year, I made a list of 10 things I was going to do in 2017. While I did not accomplish all that was on my list, I did accomplish some of those things. Before I share with you my 20 goals for 2018, let’s take a look back at 2017 and see exactly how I did.
Read More: I was able to accomplish this during the year thanks to Goodread and the reading challenge. I set a goal to read 48 books this year and I did it. In fact, I read 49 books so I surpassed my goal.
Study the Bible More: I got started off on the right foot, but then fell off along the way when life got so busy for me. Bible Journaling really helped me with digging into God’s word and letting it speak to my heart.
Spend More Time With My Husband: I was so excited to say that I actually accomplished this goal. We went on a lot of dates this past year and made a special anniversary trip to Boston for a bucket list foodie adventure.
Making Me a Priority: I feel like I did not give this one all the attention it deserved. I really wanted to focus more on me this year but as always, life gets busy and I push myself aside while taking care of others.
I did manage however to make sure I got a massage once a month which was amazing for me.
Write More: I failed miserably at this one in 2017. I kept putting off my writing and let everything else get in the way of that. This year is going to be different.
Rest More: Again, I failed on this goal. I let life talk me into getting even busier by taking on a job outside the home. Now, I take care of my mother in law, blog full time, work part time, take care of our house, and help my husband with his business. I think in 2017 I need to reassess again.
Digital Detox During the Year: I am having to be on the computer more than I want to now because of working outside the home so the digital detox did not happen.
Letting the Kids Go: I was able to come to grips with my kids being grown and ready to conquer the world without me this year. This is a goal I feel great about accomplishing.
Cook More: I have actually cooked less this year because of working outside the home and allowing life to knock me down a few times. This will definitely get looked at again in 2017.
Learn My Camera: Utter fail. Didn’t even read up any on doing this one.
So — there is a look back at 2017. Now, let’s talk about these amazing goals for 2018 I have set for myself.

- 20 Self Help Books
- 30 Non Self Help Books (Fiction, devotions, biographies, etc)
- 10 Business Books
- Read Through the Entire Bible
- Walk 3 miles daily
- Do yoga 3 times a week
- Drink 3 liters of water daily
- Attend a Marriage Conference in February
- 2 date nights a month
- Plan a vacation to somewhere new
- 1 monthly fun outing
- Pay off my car
- Save $5000
- Pay off the debt on my credit report
- Pay off both mine and Stephen’s credit card debt
- Increase affiliate income by 50%
- Create an e-cookbook to sell on Amazon
- Attend Mom 2.0
- Work with 5 new food brands
- Write 2 newsletters per week
- Write 30 minutes a day for at least 3 times a week
- Attend the Breathe Writers Conference in the fall
So there you have my list of LOFTY goals. Yes — I admit that some of them are super crazy! But — they say if you don’t set lofty goals, you have nothing to aim at right? Even if I can get 50% of my goals accomplished I will feel successful.
