I am deep into a new Bible Study right now about taking time to breathe and create some margin space in your life. Honestly, I don't have a lot of that, and I have to work really hard to make myself take a “me time” time out each day and do something that I love. I have so many things I want to do, but my busy lifestyle keeps me from doing that.
It's my job to carve out time for myself. In fact, its no one else's responsibility BUT mine. I am the reason that I am overloaded all the time, so I have found 3 sure fire quick and easy ways to get a little me time each day.
3 Easy Ways to Make Time for You
1) Stop, Pause, and Enjoy a Snack
I am the world's worst about just plugging through my workload. I live on coffee, junk food, and my computer and I often time forget to take a break.
I have started setting a timer reminding me to get up, walk away, and sit and enjoy the view out my back door. During this time, I usually enjoy a snack like the new Müller® Ice Cream Inspired Yogurt.
I saw these the other day when I was grocery shopping at Walmart. They were not in the yogurt aisle, but in the dairy case where they keep the newest products available.
They have 3 flavors available — Raspberry Chocolate Chips, Mint Chocolate Chip, and Vanilla Bean. All three and new and super delicious — and I love that it is the perfect amount of indulgence for me but balanced with taste and nutrition.
If you want to try these out, be sure to hit up your local Walmart between Feb 5th-8th for a store demo of the product. But take my word for it — they are really good.
2. Take up a hobby
One of my favorite things to do is crochet. It is the one ME time thing I can do that really relaxes me. I sit down with my yarn and crochet needle and the world just melts away.
I love making baby blankets for people and hats for the kids in Haiti.
3. Read something to relax
I love sitting in the evenings (of course I have to make myself do it) and reading my favorite cooking magazines. It is where I get tons of ideas for the yummy posts I share with you here on the site.
Whatever it is that makes YOU take some me time, carve out time to do it. Seriously. Life gets so busy that we just keep over loading ourselves. It's high time we start putting ourselves back at the top of the list.
