I am bound and determined to get my life back on track in 2015. There are many areas that I need to tackle (such as eating right, exercising, sleeping, etc), but I am taking them one month at a time and for me, January is about my health — it should be for you too. I let myself slip around the second half of a year so I have to spend some time getting myself going again in the first of a new year. Here are 3 ways to be good to yourself in the new year. I hope these help you as much as they help me.
How to be Good to Yourself
1. Determine to get more sleep
One of the things that I was horrible at in 2014 was getting an adequate amount of sleep. I would wake up SO groggy and have to drink enormous amounts of coffee to get myself awake. Then, it’s an all day struggle to fight with wanting to take a nap. At night, I stay up binge watching my favorite shows on Netflix or browsing Pinterest for a new recipe, and before you know it, it’s midnight again.
This cycle has to stop!
I decided to make myself turn off all electronics around 8:30 and get in the bed no later than 10:00 pm. Getting more sleep is important for overall health.
2. Eat three meals a day
This is a big one for me. As a blogger, I usually skip breakfast and lunch and nibble and snack most of the day until dinner time. My body has NO clue when to be hungry and when not to be because I am not consistent with my food choices.
I have decided to start setting an alarm for when I need to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner — and — I am not doing it in front of a computer while I work. I am actually taking about 30 minutes to enjoy my meal. Campbell’s® Slow Kettle® soup allow me to do just that.
I found a ton of these at my local Walmart. I went straight to the soup aisle looking for a variety to keep on hand to have with my Grilled Cheese Sandwiches or Pimento Cheese sandwiches and settled on a few.

3. Walk more
Being a blogger, I sit a lot. Like at least 6 hours a day. Because of that, my activity level is very sedentary. I am making it a personal goal to walk at least an hour and a half every single day. I want to get those 10,000 steps in! I go with my daughter and we do it right at our church and it works perfectly.
