I get teased a lot from my family and people I know about how much I love my dog. It's no lie. My sweet little Tucker is pretty much my third child. But you know what I tell them? Ain't no shame in my chihuahua love game! In fact, right now as I write this post, he is snuggled up beside me on the couch, his back to my leg, snoring like a little baby. His being this close to me helps me feel comforted and I get a lot of writing done when he is by my side.
Because of him being my third child and my fur baby, I spoil him probably more than I should. I have heard joke after joke when it comes to what I do for him, so today I thought I would share with you the 5 over the top ways I spoil my dog. Yes — this is my #DogMomTruth — and I am seriously not ashamed to share them!
5 Over the Top Ways I Spoil My Dog
#1 He Has His Own Closet Full of Clothes
Yes — yes he does. I take him everywhere we go — on trips, to games, on car rides, and he has an outfit of clothes for every single one of them.
He even has a beach shirt y'all.
#2 He Gets Bacon for Breakfast Every Single Day
My husband makes our dog a piece of bacon every morning for breakfast. It is the only people food he gets. Even if we go out to eat somewhere for breakfast, he will either buy him a bacon biscuit and bring it home, or he will take a piece off of his own sandwich to bring home to him.
He is that spoiled –(not to mention the cat as well).
#3 He Has a Bedtime Routine That He Does Not Deviate From
Every night at 9pm, Tucker will start barking at me because he is ready to go to bed. He gets huffy if I don't take him out and put him in bed, tucking him in at night like a human.
He sleeps on the pillow like a human and loves to snuggle under the covers.
#4 He is the Perfect Picnic Buddy
He gets to picnic a lot these days as well. We get a blanket and head down to the lake where we live and set out our picnic blanket. Tucker enjoys his food (and some juicy watermelon) while we enjoy people watching (his favorite past time).
#5 Feeding Him His Favorite Treats
We also look for foods that are better for him — like this new brand I just discovered — Supreme Source®. This grain-free dog and cat food is packed with protein, vitamins, antioxidants and provides complete nutrition for both Tucker and Mittens in all stages of life.
Their food has no corn, wheat, soy, artificial flavors or colors. Instead, Supreme Source is made with a healthy blend of fruits and veggies and now also includes USDA organic seaweed, a nutrient-rich superfood that helps promote healthy digestion, may support intestinal health, helps boost the overall immune system, and more!
Since Tucker is getting older, I am always on the lookout for foods that will help him feel better and support an overall health for him.
