5 Reasons a Beach Vacation is What You Need This Spring

Sharing is caring!

Next week, all of our area will be on Spring Break — so where are you headed? If you are late to the game and haven't made plans yet, let me share with you why I think a beach vacation is what you need this spring.

My family and I love the beach. When we want to get away and unwind, we never ever think of anywhere else — the beach is always in the front of our minds.

Here are my 5 reasons that I think you need a beach vacation this Spring Break.

5 Reasons You Need a Beach Vacation

#1 Relaxation is a Must

We are headed back to the beach again this fall for our annual family trip, but before we decided that this year, we had talked about going to Disney.

However, the more I thought about it, and all the hustle and bustle that is involved in a Disney vacation, I knew that was not what my body and soul craved.

I craved being able to sit early in the morning, reading and drinking coffee and listening to the waves crash against the shore.

The relaxation that the beach offers is simply one of the best times in my life. I use this time to rejuvenate myself, unplug from online distractions and just immerse myself in letting the sun, sand, and waves wash away all the stresses of everyday life.

#2 Family Togetherness

When my family and I go to the beach every year, there is a closeness that comes about that seems to have been missing all year.

We spend more time together, playing board games, cooking together, taking long walks on the beach and just catching up with each other.

It's during these times, that my beautiful grown kids share their dreams and passions with me. I don't have to compete with video games, social media, or their friends. I have their clear undivided attention, and for me, that is worth everything in the world.

#3 New Adventures

Every time we take a beach vacation, we always make sure to do something that we have never done before. This last time, we took a 2 hour cruise on a 53 ft catamaran and had the most amazing romantic time ever.

We watched dolphins playing in the water, following the boat. We listened to romantic music during our cruise, we had a few snacks, but the best part was getting to watch the sun set on the water.

It was something that was purely magical and honestly, I had never done this before and can now mark that off my bucket list.

#4 Rediscovering My Love for Life

When I am away on the beach, I discover how much fun life is. I watch others on the beach laughing and running, splashing and playing, and I am reminded that life is fun.

Watching my daughter run and play in the waves reminds me that sometimes, you just need to enjoy life — even when you think there is nothing to like about it.

#5 The Beach is My Happy Place

For me, the beach is where it's at. It is my happy place. It is where I reconnect and get my charge from. Nothing says fun to me like sticking my toes in the sand and burying my feet.

Nothing is greater than building castles with my children.

Nothing is greater than nights of laughter at our beach house.

It is what makes me tick.

So you ask me — what's the best kind of vacation? Going to the beach during Spring Break  — that's my kind of vacation.

What about you? What is your favorite vacation?

The beach is definitely my happy place too - the sound of the waves is just mesmerizing. And my kids LOVE it - they could just play on the sand and run in and out of the waves all day.

I live along the ocean ;-) When I was working in St Jean de Luz then Hendaye, I took the train and the tracks follow the ocean in Bidart and Guethary. That was a great way to begin and finish the working day !

I am always torn between the beach and the mountains. I love them both...just depends on time of year and location.
