I received complimentary tea products from Adagio Teas in exchange for sharing this review. All opinions listed are 100% my own.
I have recently begun really getting into tea drinking, especially in the early evenings. A hot cup of chamomile tea and a great book are exactly what I need after a long day of working around the home. If you add in my homemade madeline cookies, that will make the perfect night in!
Since I am new to tea drinking, I like to find unique teas and companies I can purchase from. Sure, I could go to the grocery store, but I LOVE when I can order teas online — especially when I find out that they are fair trade teas like the ones I recently discovered at Adagio Teas.
What is Adagio Teas?
Adagio Tea is an online retailer of delicious fair trade teas from all over. I was extremely impressed with their large assortment of different flavors, gift boxes, subscriptions and more, so when Adagio Tea offered to send me some tea to review, of course, I happily accepted. I got to choose a few teas and I grabbed an electric tea pot as well.
They make organic teas a priority in their business. Because tea takes time to grow, new organic tea sources may not have the depth of flavor people expect from quality tea blends.
Adagio works directly with farmers to source tea that is grown with sustainable resources and ensures that their strict guidelines on pesticides are followed when transitional/non-organic sources are used.
For me, that is great because I like to know that what I am drinking has not been covered in pesticides at all.
Working with farmers is also a number 1 priority at Adagio, as well. Their unique Roots Campaign allows tea buyers to read about the actual humans who grow and process the teas. This was so cool, especially when I was picking out the teas I wanted to try.
For example, the Roobios tea I got (which is simply AMAZING in flavor) is grown in South Africa by Niklaas Jakobus Slinger, who has been growing Roobios for over 32 years!
Because Adagio buys directly from growers, they help create a better standard of living for those growers, who can then focus on producing a high quality product for a fair, living wage.
All Kinds of Assortment of Teas
I love that Adagio offers such a wide variety of teas. The Iced Teas come in 6-quart size bags. So you can heat up the water and let the quart size bag steep in the water for 5 – 10 minutes or you can place in a pitcher with cold water overnight.
The hot tea comes in individual tea pyramid bags. I think I like these best. I can actually see what is in the bag. I love that it is actually leaves and not ground to a pulp like most teas I buy at the store.
If you purchase loose leaf tea, you will need to have a tea strainer. The tea is nice is texture, smells delicious and looks and feels good in quality.
The price for these teas is very reasonable. It is a high-quality tea, and if you are like me, when you have a higher quality tea, you are willing to pay just a little more.
You can find Tea less expensive in bargain stores, but you won’t know how old it is or see the quality.
The packages come in several different sizes. They also have giftware and glassware as well as kettles, like the UtiliTEA I got.
They offer free shipping when your order comes to $49.00.
If you love to drink tea like I do, I urge you to check out Adagio Teas. I am sure you will find all kinds of teas that are right up your alley!
