Coffee: The Perfect Start To Your Day

Sharing is caring!

Do you love coffee? Does the smell, taste, and look of coffee make your day? Coffee can give you the most perfect start to your day.

Who doesn’t love coffee? If you don’t, you are not just missing out on a beverage but a mind-blowing experience. Ask any coffee lover, and they would tell you, drinking coffee is an experience in itself.

Coffee is an enigma; it’s liquid gold. It’s what gives thousands of weary people the energy to get moving every morning. A coffee addict cannot function right without their first cup.

Coffee is not just a drink; it’s a culture. Most of the first-world countries are obsessed with some of the famous, branded coffee chains.

It's the second most-consumed drink across the globe; do you know what makes it so popular? You are about to find out.

The Wonder That Is Coffee

After water, tea is the most-consumed beverage in the world. This is because tea was discovered much earlier than coffee. Although the wonders of coffee were discovered in ancient Ethiopia thousands of years ago, the brew we know now became global much later.

Legend has it that an Ethiopian shepherd named Kaldi discovered coffee accidentally while noticing the behavioral change of his sheep that consumed coffee berries. He witnessed his sheep getting “caffeine high” overnight and told the monks about it.

That’s how coffee was brought to the limelight. However, the beverage we drink today was formulated much later in the Arabian Peninsula, which is where the first coffee houses were born. From the very beginning, coffee was drunk socially.

Why Does Coffee Make Us Feel SO GOOD?

You know that feeling when you walk into a coffee shop, and the smell of that rich, roasted goodness hits your nostrils? The smell of coffee can immediately put you in a good mood. Why do you think coffee makes us feel so good?

Coffee is stimulating. It interacts with the neurotransmitters in our brain, and it does so through the stimulant we call caffeine. Caffeine gets into our bloodstream after consumption. Once it reaches the brain, it blocks the receptors for Adenosine, the brain chemical that lowers brain activity.

Along with that, Caffeine also interacts with serotonin and dopamine. Serotonin helps regulate our mood, emotions, appetite, digestive system, etc. Dopamine further helps the cause by making us feel happy!

Why Should We Drink Coffee?

Coffee lovers are obsessed with drinking the perfect brew. For some, this means regular visits to coffee shops. However, that can be pretty expensive. If you read these reviews, you might decide to get your very own espresso machine instead of visiting the cafe regularly!

But before that, let’s discuss some convincing reasons why we should drink coffee regularly.

Work Efficiency

Coffee drinkers claim to function better after starting their day with coffee. Coffee makes your mind and body alert. It helps boost cognitive functions and helps process memories better. This makes you learn faster.

Since caffeine affects your mood neurotransmitters, you feel more motivated and confident. Coffee lovers often say they have a better “hold of themselves” after drinking coffee. This means that they feel more confident and have more conviction after having their regular hit of coffee.

Being alert and more in control makes you work faster and better. Coffee eliminates drowsiness, making you feel more aware of the present. You may get addicted, but it is that one thing that will get you moving.

Health Benefits

There are numerous health benefits of having coffee. For starters, there is evidence showing that it helps reduce the risk of some serious neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. This is because caffeine helps stimulate brain activity.

Multiple studies have shown that drinking coffee can help you live longer. You also live a happier life if you drink coffee, reducing the risk of falling into depression.

Coffee, even the instant variety, has tons of antioxidants! This is why coffee is great for lessening the risk of cancer, particularly liver cancer.

Coffee even burns fat and enhances your physical performance. People who drink coffee regularly can work out for longer!

(Negligible) Downsides

Too much of any good thing is bad, and coffee is no different. Even though caffeine is added to migraine medicine, if you are addicted to coffee, withdrawals can give you severe bouts of migraines.

Another problem with coffee is that it makes you visit the bathroom frequently. This might cause water-soluble nutrients to pass out from your body. It can also inhibit nutrient absorption, so make sure you take your vitamin supplements 6 hours before or after coffee consumption.

Drinking too much coffee can increase the risk of heart disease. If you drink coffee responsibly, it doesn’t have to get this serious. It’s safe to drink four cups of brewed coffee per day.

Delicious Coffee Recipes

Cold Brew Coffee Concentrate

Even the most devout hot coffee lovers find it difficult to swallow that steaming cup of espresso on a scorching summer’s day.

Why buy your cold brew concentrate from stores when you can make yours at home? This recipe is super simple, and all you need is your medium-ground coffee and a mason jar.

For every pound of coffee, you need about 8 quarts of water. Love strong coffees? Go for a dark, rich roast. Add the water and the coffee into a mason jar, close the lid, and let it sit on your countertop for about 24 hours.

You can keep it refrigerated for 2 weeks. Since it’s concentrated, dilute it with milk or water when drinking it.

Peppermint Mocha

Can’t wait for the holiday seasons for your next cup of steaming or chilled peppermint mocha? Make yours at home.

For every 150 ml of water, add two shots of espresso, or you can use about 60 ml of coffee concentrate mentioned above.

Add three teaspoons of unsweetened cocoa powder and one tablespoon of peppermint syrup. If you are making a steaming cup, you can also use solid chocolate and candy canes instead. Make sure that the chocolate has melted, and try to crush the candy cane.

Add sugar or any sweetener according to taste. And there you have it, delicious peppermint mocha, right at home. This is great as post-dinner coffee during winter.

Spiced Mocha

Are you tired of your usual flavored vanilla lattes and mochas? Do you want to try something that ignites your tastebuds?

Give a perfect start to your day with this sinfully mouth-watering spiced mocha. The heat of chili and cayenne pepper, the fragrant aroma of cinnamon, in a rich, luxurious mocha! What more can you ask for? The blend of spices pairs undeniably well with delicious chocolate coffee.

For all recipes, you can switch espresso shots with cold brew concentrate. Serve your spiced mocha in a mason jar, which is great for making cold brews. Use splashes of chocolate syrup both for decoration and taste. Top it off with whipped cream, and you will get your super delicious spiced mocha.

Caramel Macchiato

Caramel macchiatos are an extremely popular order in coffee shops. However, they are often decked with calories and unhealthy sugars. Make yours at home, and avoid calorie overload!

The most important element of your caramel macchiato is the caramel sauce, which you can easily make at home. This four-ingredient caramel sauce is just what you need to flavor and decorate your caramel macchiato.

You can add vanilla syrup or drops of vanilla essence to your steaming milk. Once again, you can add two shots of espresso or 60ml of cold brew concentrate. Add only a splash of milk, a tablespoon of caramel syrup, and sugar to taste. Top it off with whipped cream and a drizzle of the syrup.

Amazing Coffee Facts

Did you know that beer was the most popular breakfast drink before coffee came in? This was probably because good quality water was hard to find and more expensive. Beer decked with calories also gave people energy. If it wasn’t for coffee, we would all probably still be going to work drunk.

Coffee is so amazing that it can also be turned into fuel for our cars. Maybe sometime in the future, coffee will run our cars and us!

Another amazing coffee fact is that Brazil, the largest coffee producer, produces about forty percent of the world’s coffee.

Try drinking your coffee at some time from nine-thirty to eleven-thirty to make the most out of your morning joe.

Final Thoughts

From the taste to smell, everything about coffee is perfect. If you love your coffee, enjoy your cup knowing that you are drinking a bunch of antioxidants. It strengthens your brain and makes you more efficient.

So don’t feel guilty about your next cup of coffee. Drink coffee within limits, and live unapologetically for your coffee love.
