We love decorating our walls at home with photos we snap — whether it's of our animals or if we are on vacation. Normally, when I choose to create a new wall art item, I go with canvas prints. However, I was recently introduced to acrylic prints — and y'all — I'm not sure that I will ever go back to canvas again after this!
The company Bumblejax reached out and asked if we would like to review a couple of their products, and of course I said yes. The idea of acrylic prints intrigued me and I couldn't wait to see what they had to offer.
I knew exactly the photo I had in mind to use — this beautiful picture that my daughter snapped of her cat.
Since our animals are part of our life, and I know how much my daughter loves to decorate in a cat theme in her room, I thought — what better way to do that than with her own cat?
I sent the photo to Bumblejax and told them the products I wanted to try out — the block and an acrylic print. I love that this company is a hand craft expert and all their products are made and manufactured in the U.S.
When the box arrived, I took notice of how specially packaged they were. They took extra care to make sure that my items arrived scratch free.
The Acrylic Block
When you submit your order, the photo you send them is printed on high qulaity photo paper before the acrylic is applied. Not only does this offer a more vibrant photo, but it looks exquisite sitting on the desk.
This 3d block has 1″ thick acrylic and diamond polished edges that offer vibrant photos. The see through edges allow more light to refract within the acrylic, which makes your photo look amazing and offers a bit of a 3D effect.
Not only do they have the blocks, but they also have prints that can be hung on the wall. Check out this beautiful hanging version of the photo.
According the website — this is how they describe these prints —
Your photo is printed on high-grade photo paper (satin or metallic), then face mounted to the acrylic glass so you're looking through the acrylic at your print. Acrylic is unique in that light refracts within the acrylic (instead of passing through as it does with glass) resulting in an almost backlit appearance with the right lighting. Your print is backed with providing protection and rigidity and finished with hanging/floating hardware for that floating off the wall look.
They have different sizes of thickness available — 1/4″, 1/8″ and now they have 1/2″ as well.
