Today I am sharing with you my super easy restaurant style salsa. My daughter and I have been making this for years. I take it to every party and they swear that I have slaved over a big pot of tomatoes creating this delicious salsa recipe.
But really — it takes me less than 5. minutes.
My secret ingredient? RO*TEL — for real. That’s it. It has everything in it you could ever want for salsa. From this can, you can jazz it up and go as hot or bland as you want.
I buy the big can because, in our household, salsa is a food group all on its own — and many times, I opt for chips and salsa for dinner instead of actual dinner. I know, I’m cool like that 🙂
So — what do I do to make this easy restaurant style salsa so good? Let me tell you.
How to Make Easy Restaurant Style Salsa
In my blender ( I have this exact Ninja 4 in 1 and I love it), I place the can of RO*TEL, along with 3 green onions, 2 limes juiced, a bunch of cilantro, and then salt and pepper to taste.
Then I pulse a few times until everything is broken up but still chunky. I don’t like it to be completely pureed. I like to see chunks of tomatoes, onions, and cilantro in my salsa.
Then, I pour it in a bowl to serve to my guests (who am I kidding — this bowl is just for me) along with tortilla chips or if someone is carb free, I put out veggie sticks to dip in the salsa.
Look at all that salsa goodness going on. Seriously, in our home, we are never without a big bowl of salsa in the refrigerator.
This stuff holds up so well and will last for over a month in the refrigerator (maybe longer, but we have never had it last longer than a week in our house because we eat so much of it).
- 1 28 ounce can of RO*TEL
- 3 each green onions, chopped (whites and greens)
- 2 each limes, juiced
- 1 bunch cilantro, roughly chopped, stems removed
- salt and pepper to taste
- Place all items in a blender and pulse until your desired consistency is reached. Enjoy with your favorite veggies or tortilla chips.
This salsa is so versatile that you can add anything you want in it such as pineapple, garlic, cumin, and more. The RO*TEL acts as a base for you to create your perfect rendition of Restaurant Style Salsa.
