I am a Mexican food lover more than any other food on the planet, so when I was contacted by the Certified Steak and Seafood Company and they asked me if I wanted to try their meats and create some recipes, I jumped at the chance. They sent me delicious jumbo shrimp, ribeye steak, and this gorgeous flank steak. With the flank steak, I knew I was going to be making Quick and Easy Flank Steak Tacos.
Flank steak in and of itself can be pretty tough, but if you marinate it correctly, you will get a delicious and tender meat to have for tacos.
I chose to marinate mine in a Verde salsa that I got from the store. You simply pour it in the bag and then put your meat in there. Let all the air out of the bag and let it marinate all day.
- 1 flank steak
- 1 jar of salsa verde
- cilantro for garnish
- queso fresco for garnish
- avocados for garnish
- Marinate your flank steak in a bag with a jar of salsa verde for at least 2 hours.
- Drain off marinade and season steak with salt and pepper.
- Grill your steak on an open flame for about 5 minutes per side. Let it rest for 15 minutes before cutting it. Slice in thin layers against the grain.
- Serve with warm tortillas and your choice of taco toppings.
When you get ready to cook it, place it on the grill and just let it grill for about 5 minutes per side. The secret to amazing Steak Tacos is to NOT let your meat get fully done. It gets tough when it is well done, so make sure to do it medium and you will have delicious tacos every single time.
