15 Minute Grilled Steak Alfredo

Sharing is caring!

This grilled steak alfredo dish is a super quick and easy recipe that is perfect for those weeknights when you need a fast meal.

To clean out my pantry which seems to be completely overloaded in every area, I have been trying to create my versions of meals that sound appealing to me.

I made a delicious Grilled Steak Alfredo this week.

This post was originally published in 2011 and has recently been updated.

Choose the Right Steak for This Recipe

To make this dish, you only need a few simple ingredients and 15 minutes of your time. If you are not a steak person, you can omit it and use chicken instead. If you don't want any meat, simply leave it out and make this a vegetarian dish.

For this recipe, I used a Filet Mignon, but any cut of steak will work great for this dish. I would steer clear of using sirloin steak as it can be tough. The best steak is always in my opinion a Filet Mignon.

Season steak and place it in a large skillet(preferably cast iron) over medium-high heat. I like adding some balsamic vinegar to the steak before adding it to the pan.

Sear both sides and cook the steak for about 6 minutes per side. I like my steak medium rare, but you can cook the meat to your specified doneness.

Set the steak aside and make the sauce in the same pan where the steak drippings are. If you have leftover steak from the night before, you can skip making steak and just slice up the leftovers.

Another great steak recipe that takes no time to prepare is steak cubes in a crockpot. It's a flavorful dish with all the hard work being done by the slow cooker.

How to Make This Easy Steak Alfredo Recipe

While the steak is cooking, cook the pasta according to the package directions. I like using Penne Pasta or Fettucine Pasta but any noodle-type pasta will work. Angel Hair pasta is such a great pasta to use for this dish as well.

Melt butter over medium heat in the skillet with the steak drippings. Now, add in the heavy cream, grated Parmesan Cheese, and garlic. Let everything come together. If you want a more pungent cheese, try Gorgonzola cheese. I prefer Parmesan for this dish.

Place the sliced steak on a cutting board and slice it against the grain. Mix the cooked pasta with the creamy sauce and top with the juicy slices of steak. Sprinkle on some parsley, and black pepper, and serve.

If you remember, back in November I shared a recipe for making Classic alfredo sauce. It tastes delish on this steak pasta!

This recipe comes together in 15 minutes and makes for the perfect quick weeknight dinner. I like to serve it with some crusty Copycat Cheesecake Factory Honey Wheat Bread and a green salad like my TikTok Green Goddess Salad. If you like garlic bread instead, serve that with this delicious pasta recipe.

If you want a little fresh veggie to go with pasta, fresh spinach adds great flavor to this dish. You could even add some balsamic glaze and sun-dried tomatoes to the top of the pasta. Finish it off with a little olive oil and some extra salt.

To store, let the pasta cool to room temperature and then store it in an airtight container and eat it the next day for lunch. It's even better the next day!

Pepper Steak with Horseradish Cream Sauce

I don't know about you, but anytime I can make a quick and delicious dinner for date night or any special occasion, I love to jump on it. I mean, I love pasta and could live on it!

This is the perfect dish that you can memorize and keep handy in your mind because you know that you are going to make it over and over and over again.

Grilled Steak Alfredo

This delicious pasta dish comes together in 15 minutes.

Prep Time 3 minutes
Cook Time 15 minutes
Total Time 18 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 8-10 ounce ribeye steak (or steak of your choice)
  • 1 box of penne pasta
  • McCormick Montreal steak seasoning
  • 1 clove of garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • 1/2 lemon squeezed
  • 3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • Shredded cheese for garnish (my favorite is the 5 cheese blend)

Instructions

  1. When you are ready to begin cooking your steak, remove from the packaging and sprinkle on the Montreal Steak Seasoning.
  2. Get out your grill pan and turn heat to medium high. Drizzle the steak with a little olive oil to keep steak from sticking.
  3. Sear both sides of the steak until the preferred color and doneness of steak occurs. I like my steak medium so I do mine to 145-150 degrees.
  4. While the meat is cooking, make your alfredo sauce using the butter, parmesean cheese, garlic, lemon and heavy cream.
  5. In a medium sauce pan, add butter and garlic and let heat for about a minute. Then add in heavy cream. Heat until it is all melted.
  6. Add Parmesan cheese and continue to stir until sauce just starts to thicken. Squeeze in the lemon juice and remove from heat.
  7. When the noodles have finished cooking, drain almost all the water from the pan, leaving about a 1/4 of the cup in the bottom. This will allow your sauce to stick to the noodles
  8. Slice the steak against the grain into thin slices and throw in the pan with the noodles. Pour the alfredo sauce over the noodles and steak and mix together to combine.
  9. Serve with garlic bread and a salad for a complete meal!

Instead of heavy cream I made it with a tin of condensed mushroom soup & 1/2 up of milk. Still had the creamy taste but not as many calories, worked for me.

Glad you found a way to make it work for you. I am not a fan of cream of mushroom soup so I don't usually use it.

Do you have a recommendation for cream substitute. I can’t get lactose free milk but not creamery. Thank you

You can try oat milk or almond milk. Even coconut milk might work
