When I was a little girl, my friend and I would sit on the school bus and fill notebook after notebook of stories we would come up with. From the time I was old enough to pick up a book and read by myself, I would allow my mind to get swept away into another world and on another adventure. It was during this time that my heart craved writing as a profession.
For years, I let my passion and craft lay dormant, and then 3 years ago, I took the leap, quit my jobs online and decided to write for myself.
Granted, I have like 5 book manuscripts in draft mode and I don’t work on them as often as I should, but soon that will all change.
I am creating a space in my bedroom for me to stow away and write my heart out. It’s hard to get focused when the family is all gathered around. I need a place where I can go — with my laptop and coffee in hand — a place that lets my soul breathe so that I can write until my fingers are tired.
While I love writing on my computer, nothing compares to the journals I fill.
Writing is a great outlet for me and for others as well. While in this technology laden world, the art of handwriting seems lost, there are those of us who still prefer to receive something handwritten, and Uni-Ball knows all about that.
Uniball’s Why I Write video features a professor describing the importance of writing, specifically handwriting.
