How do you know when your child has been watching to much Man Vs. Wild on television? When you look out in your backyard and you see this!
I can tell you that I was completely shocked at which child had completed this, with the help of a friend!
Yep, you guessed it! My crafty little daughter! She and her daddy and her brother love watching the survival shows. They have learned so much from them. Last year, Stephen helped them build a teepee using a tarp. He showed them how to set one up and make it sturdy with just a small piece of string. This year, Kayla ventured out on her own and tried her hand at making one!
I wonder what she will come up with next?
How to Make a Teepee Out of Sticks and Leaves
- Grab a bunch of long, sturdy sticks that you can use to stand up against each other in a pyramid fashion.
- Once you have all of your sticks in a form that you like, take a piece of string and wrap around each stick until you have them all fastened together.
- Using small sticks to fill in the gaps and holes, place them around the bottom, by sticking them in the ground.
- Place leaves all over the sticks, covering them and giving cover to your teepee.
