When I first started baking, I made all my cookies right on the cookie sheet. I would spray them with cooking oil and of course, many times they would stick. Then I started using parchment paper and things got a little better, but I always have to trim it to the right size. Then I discovered silicone baking mats and my baking world got a TON brighter.
I recently made a batch of Peanut Butter cookies to test out The Art of Cooking 3 pack of silicone baking mats. I ordered them from Amazon and for only $21.95 for a set of three, that is an amazing price.
They come in three different sizes, which is perfect for the smallest baking sheet to the largest baking sheet. Odors won't attach to them, and there is no need to use oils, butters, sprays, or parchment paper.
I love the ruler along the edge. It works great to measure the size of your dough (this is great if you are making a square or rectangle type pastry).
The mats are all BPA and BPP free. They are produced using FDA (USA) and LFGB (Europe) approved materials. These are oven, microwave, and freezer safe and the silicone mats can also be used on the counter top for all types of dough– and the best part? The mats clean up quickly and easily with soap and water and allow to air dry. If you decide to put it in a dish washer, make sure you use the top rack!
I have priced many silicone baking sheets, and most of them range from $15.00 to $20.00 for just one, so the price of $21.95 for three is amazing.
The next time you bake some cookies, why not try out these silicone baking mats?
