Making these cookies is really easy. I am learning you can do a lot with cake mix (instead of just making a cake!). I have made delicious red velvet brownies using a red velvet cake mix, and now I have made these cookies.

Next on my list is learning how to make fudge using cake icing.

So — you start with the following ingredients to make these cookies:

strawberries and cream cookies 2

  • 1 box Duncan Hines white cake mix
  • 1 small box strawberry jello
  • ½ stick butter, softened
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 egg

Mix all of the above ingredients into your mixing bowl.

Preheat your oven to 325 degrees.

Once you get the mix all mixed up, scoop cookie dough out with a cookie scoop and place on your cookie sheet.

Take a spoon and flatten the cookies out a bit (they don't spread hardly at all while cooking).

Once you flatten them out, you can add sprinkles to some if you don't plan on adding icing to the cookies.

Stick them in the oven and bake them for 11-13 minutes. Once they are done, move them to a wire rack to cool. From this point, you can eat them as is, or you can add strawberry frosting on top.

Homemade cream cheese frosting is my favorite! Oddly enough, I prefer to dunk my cookies in it than frost them though. lol
