Anytime there is a blogging get together, I get all excited. I only get to see these people a few times a year, but when we get together, good things happen.
As a blogger, there is just something about connecting with someone in real life that lives halfway on the other side of the world.
These people understand me, they know me, and yet they love me anyway.
We laugh together, we talk fur babies, we eat amazing food (thanks to Lindsey) — but the best part — it’s almost like we are family.
Bloggers who are in this because they love what blogging means to them — they embrace times like this with love and compassion for one another. We are not out to be better than the other. We don’t think we are at the top of the food chain and everyone else is just chum bait.
We support one another. We applaud each other when we get great gigs, and we are there to grieve with each other when bad things happen.
One of the best things I ever did was go to a blogging conference and let down my guard of being afraid of talking to other bloggers who have been in the game much longer than me.
If I would have come into this game with that kind of mentality, I would never have met the wonderful Genelle and Heather from The Third Boob, or made instant friends with Crystal from Mrs. Happy Homemaker.
These people will forever be my people and I cannot imagine my life without them in it.
If you are a blogger — stop being afraid to mingle with other bloggers. Reach out to them — they are your friends. They are your tribe. They will always understand you and your crazy blog!
What about you? Who are your people?
