I have really been in a funk lately. I am a crossroads in my life once again where I am trying to make a decision about what I want to do for me, for my online ministry, and for my writing. It’s crazy how complicated I make this. In fact, I shared this status on Facebook on Friday. I am reading a great book by Lysa Terkeurst that is helping me define what my Best Yes is. I love it, but man figuring everything out is TORTURE!
This week, I decided to get back to reading blog posts that really make a difference in my life — the ones that encourage me and push me on to be the writer and person that God created me to be. I thought some of these were so profound so I wanted to share them with you too. Here is what I pondered on this week.
~My friend Kela is always so inspiring. She turned me on to a site called The Gift of Writing when she shared this post on how to develop a writing practice — something I am sorely lacking in right now because I let everything else in my life take precedence.
~Another great post from The Gift of Writing — this one really hit me hard about starting over from scratch may be exactly what you need — something I have been pondering for a while now.
~InCourage had a great article that I was introduced to about giving yourself permission to close the laptop and let it be. I so. need. to. do. this. sometimes.
~This post from Shauna Niequist made me cry. Reminding me that YES I am enough.
~My friend Abby from church wrote a post on her site (I just love her y’all) reminding us that all this crazy amounts of snow we have gotten is really a reminder from God to slow down and breathe and just take a breath. In fact, God recently gave me a reminder just like that in my new bracelet I got from Hobby Lobby!
~This post from Melissa Wilkins really got to me because I am one that stalks my comments y’all. After reading her post on why she disabled comments, it made me breathe a little easier.
A Few of My Own Favorite Posts
This week, I finally wrote a personal post (I haven’t shared in a while), and it really helped me to find my urge to write more again. I am learning to say no to things that are not the best for me and saying yes to only the best things.
Kayla and I made a delicious new salsa that also works as a great healthy snack. You can find the recipe for Mango Avocado Salsa here.
I hope that this list of what I read this week inspires you to do the things that God has laid on your heart to do. I love y’all so much and thank you for reading my blog and sticking in here with me!
What have you read that inspired you this week? I would LOVE to hear about it.
