Sharing is caring!

Homemade Cinnamon Rock Candy is a favorite Christmas Cinnamon Candy recipe to make. If you love red hots or those cinnamon toothpicks from back in the 80's, you will LOVE this old fashioned Cinnamon Rock Candy recipe.

I keep hearing everyone talk about old fashioned Christmas candies, and since I have never made any, I decided to give it a try.

First up on a long list of delicious homemade candies is the Cinnamon Rock Candy recipe. It takes no time to make it and let me tell you — it is addictive! I think I ate 6 pieces yesterday.

So let me show you how easy it is to make it.

How to Make Cinnamon Rock Candy

Line a 15x10x1-inch pan with foil. Then using non-stick cooking spray, coat the aluminum foil with the spray and set the tray aside.

In a large heavy saucepan, combine water, sugar, and corn syrup. Heat on medium, stirring occasionally, until the sugar melts.

Now, cook on medium-high heat, without stirring, until a candy thermometer reads 300° (hard-crack stage), about 25 minutes.

Remove from the heat; stir in the cinnamon oil (keep face away from mixture as oil is very strong) and the red food coloring. Immediately pour onto prepared pan. Cool completely, about 45 minutes.

Cinnamon oil can usually be found at craft stores or specialty stores with the candy making supplies.

Break the candy into pieces using the edge of a metal mallet. Sprinkle both sides of candy with confectioners' sugar. Store in airtight container.
