Hi! I'm Jen—the creator, recipe developer, photographer, writer, and traveler behind Jen Around the World.

I started Jen Around the World as a place to share my love of cooking, baking, and exploring new places. Over the years, it has grown into a resource filled with family-friendly recipes, travel guides, kitchen tips, and ideas for making everyday life a little more memorable.

Whether I'm creating a new comfort food recipe, discovering a hidden gem on a road trip, or sharing travel tips from our latest adventure, my goal is simple: to help you create delicious meals and unforgettable memories with the people you love.

When I'm not in the kitchen or traveling, you'll usually find me planning our next adventure, testing new recipes, or enjoying time with my family.

I have been living in Western Kentucky my entire life, but as you can tell from my travel posts, seeing new parts of the world is my jam. Not only is travel a passion of mine, but creating easy recipes in the kitchen is another.

Here on Jen Around the World, I love to chat about food, my love of travel, and you might even see my dog on here a time or two as well. He pretty much goes with me everywhere I go.

Now that my kids are grown, I can focus more on what women my age — the “over 40” group — can do for themselves. 🙂 Yes — it is okay to splurge on yourself.

If you have an event you need to be covered, I would be happy to discuss the details with you. Simply email me below to obtain a copy of my media kit, or you can give me a call. I can also provide links to past trips I have been on and covered.

Meet Kayla

As our photographer and videographer for Jen Around the World, Kayla helps bring recipes, destinations, and experiences to life through beautiful images and engaging videos. From filming recipe tutorials to capturing stunning travel moments, her creativity helps tell the story behind every post.

She has an incredible talent for finding the perfect shot and making every dish and destination look as amazing as it feels in person. Her work helps readers experience our adventures before they even pack their bags or step into the kitchen.

The way she captured the taste and texture of the Mongolian Ground Beef Noodles was far superior, and it's why this recipe is #1 on Jen Around the World.

Not only will you find all her beautiful photography on the site, but she also creates amazing video footage of the recipes we create here.

Kayla has a beautiful family with twin boys and an amazing husband who is just as creative in the arts as she is. She is the sole creator of all of our Toddler Printables and freebies and she helps come up with our fun toddler crafts we share here.

When she is not busy taking care of photography and videography, she's off playing with my grandsons or spending time with her husband doing things that they love.

Meet My Husband

Every great adventure needs a great travel partner, and mine is my husband.

He's the one who helps research destinations, maps out road trips, and finds many of the unique attractions, restaurants, and hidden gems we feature on the blog. During our travels, he also lends a hand behind the camera, helping capture photos and making sure we don't miss those special moments worth sharing.

He's always up for exploring somewhere new, trying local food, or taking the scenic route just to see where it leads.

What we write about on Jen Around the World:

Delicious Food: We love creating recipes on the fly for my readers that are packed full of flavor but take less time to prepare than calling for takeout! If you are interested in our team creating recipes for your brand, please reach out, and let's work something up.

Travel + Adventure: The worst form of torture is requiring me to stay home for too long. Always looking for my next adventure.

Really Cool Stuff Reviewing things I think are cool and interesting that I would actually use. To take a ride on the Kentucky Dinner Train, make a reservation.

BRAND AMBASSADOR AND INFLUENCER

My goal for this blog is not just to work with brands and organizations. I want to be a true partner in sharing information, inciting excitement, and building real relationships. My audience loves it when I share recipes that feature brands that make their lives easier in the kitchen.

They also love it when I share with them about a new place I have been to visit — one that can afford them a great vacation on a budget.

Please email me at [email protected] to discuss partnership opportunities!

I love your ideas. Nancy

If you like coffee that much you should give 'home roasting' a try. Start with some green coffee beans, an air popcorn maker and get to learnin'. If you decide you like the hobby and the results, you graduate to a real coffee roaster. Lots of places for green beans, but I use Sweet Maria's.

Good luck

Thanks EJ -- I will have to try it. I have never even given it a thought.
