This recipe for Grilled Brat Tacos with Lime Horseradish Slaw is the perfect way to make tacos this summer.
I don’t know about you but grilling season is one of my favorite seasons throughout the year.
In fact, I love it so much that when we get to the new house that we are buying, my husband and I are installing an outside kitchen so we can grill all year round.
This was originally published on May 4 2019.
We love to grill all kinds of meat, but one of my favorites is grilled bratwurst. It's even better if you let them soak in beer before grilling.
Get some homemade brewed beer (even better if you brew it) and soak those brats. And, with your beer brewing results, the meal will be enjoyable on a whole another level.
This meat is so versatile that you can literally eat it a hundred different ways. Of course, most ways is just grilled with a delicious bun and an amazing topping like Silver Spring Foods Beer N Brat Mustard.
But my new favorite way to eat grilled brats? Turning them into tacos and topping them with this delicious Lime Horseradish slaw we came up with.
It is complete and pure heaven — no joke! In fact, I plan on adding a little kick to all my foods this year. Using Silver Spring Foods line of different mustards and horseradishes is a super quick and easy way to spice up all my favorite dishes all season long.
Why I Love Silver Spring Foods
You may remember a while back I shared a delicious steak recipe with you featuring their cream style horseradish.
I truly love this brand because it is one I know and can trust. They have been growing horseradish on their farms since 1929 — so they must be doing something right. In fact, Silver Spring Foods is the world’s largest grower and processor of horseradish.
They have over 24 different products to help you zing up your recipes this year. Their horseradish sauce is what puts these grilled brat tacos over the top!
How to Make These Amazing Tacos
Start by grilling your brats. Be sure and get a good char on them. While they are grilling, we are going to make our lime horseradish slaw.
To a bowl, add —
- 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
- 2 teaspoons of Silver Spring Foods Horseradish Sauce
- 1 teaspoon of white distilled vinegar
- 1 tablespoon of sugar (can add more or less to your liking)
- Juice of 2 limes
- ¼ cup cilantro
- 2 green onions chopped finely (just the greens)
Mix all together and let it sit while you finish off the grilled brats.
I like using smaller soft taco shells — like these street taco shells I found at the grocery store. They are perfect for making handheld smaller bites.
Grill the soft taco shells to get just a bit of char on them and then remove from the grill.
Slice your brats on the bias giving them a little length so they fit perfectly in the taco shell.
Top with sliced avocados, the slaw, fresh lime juice, extra green onions, and chopped cilantro.
These tacos are simply amazing. The zing and bite from the horseradish pair perfectly with the grilled brats. You will never eat brats the same again after this!
This summer if you are looking to up your grilling game, think about giving your recipes a zing using Silver Spring Foods horseradish and mustard sauces. In fact, this would be great to take with you on your vacations or take it on the road, bring it camping or pack it for a beach day!
