Hey y'all! I'm Jennifer, a Western Kentucky Southern gal, full of charm and sass! I am a mother of two amazing young adults and wife to a wonderful outdoors-loving man. 

I have been living in Western Kentucky my entire life, but as you can tell from my travel posts, seeing new parts of the world is my jam. Not only is travel a passion of mine, but creating easy recipes in the kitchen is another.

Here on Jen Around the World, I love to chat about food, my love of travel, and you might even see my dog on here a time or two as well. He pretty much goes with me everywhere I go.

Now that my kids are grown, I can focus more on what women my age — the “over 40” group — can do for themselves. 🙂 Yes — it is okay to splurge on yourself.

Who is Jennifer?

For the past 12 years, I have watched this space blossom from a hobby blog about homeschooling into so much more. Being able to provide delicious meals on a budget is always a plus. I also share fun getaways that won't break the bank. Staying within a budget is important to me.

I love spending my time in the kitchen creating and tweaking recipes and trying out new kitchen tools and methods of preparation.

I created these grilled brat tacos for Silver Spring Foods.

When I’m not making something myself, I most definitely enjoy getting out and dining at new restaurants all over the United States.

In fact, traveling is my newest hobby and I love sharing about exciting places to visit, like a visit I made to Georgetown, Kentucky.

Meet Kayla

Kayla is the beauty behind Jen Around the World. She takes the majority of the photos and the videos and does an amazing job at it.

She has an eye for creating spectacular food photography as she did for our Mongolian Ground Beef Noodles.

Not only will you find all her beautiful photography on the site, but she also creates amazing video footage of the recipes we create here.

Kayla has a beautiful family with twin boys and an amazing husband who is just as creative in the arts as she is. When she is not busy taking care of photography and videography, she's off playing with my grandsons or spending time with her husband doing things that they love.

What we write about on Jen Around the World:

Delicious Food: We love creating recipes on the fly for my readers that are pumped full of flavor but take less time to prepare than calling for takeout! If you are interested in our team creating recipes for your brand, please reach out, and let's work something up.

Travel + Adventure: The worst form of torture is requiring me to stay home for too long. Always looking for my next adventure.
