If you’re looking for a Halloween snack that’s both creepy and delicious, these Spider Web Deviled Eggs are a must-make! They’re simple, striking, and make the perfect spooky addition to any Halloween party table.
The secret? A fun food-coloring trick that turns plain boiled eggs into eerie, web-like masterpieces.

🕸️ What You’ll Need
- 6 large eggs
- Black or purple food coloring (gel or liquid works)
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 2–3 cups warm water
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Paprika (optional, for garnish)
🕸️ How to Make Spider Web Eggs

- Boil the Eggs
Place your eggs in a pot of cold water. Bring to a boil and cook for 10 minutes. Then, transfer immediately to an ice bath to cool completely. - Crack the Shells
Once cooled, gently tap the eggs on the counter to crack the shells all around — you want a web of cracks but not broken shells. - Dye the Eggs
In a medium bowl, mix warm water, vinegar, and several drops of black or purple food coloring. Carefully place the cracked eggs into the dye and let them sit for at least 1–2 hours (or overnight for a deeper color). - Peel and Reveal
Remove the eggs from the dye, peel off the shells, and reveal the stunning spider web effect on the whites! - Make the Filling
Cut each egg in half, scoop out the yolks, and mash them in a bowl with mayonnaise, mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix until creamy and smooth. - Fill and Garnish
Spoon or pipe the filling back into the egg whites. Dust with a little paprika or add an edible candy spider on top for extra spooky flair!
🕷️ Tips & Tricks

- For an even creepier vibe, use green or orange food coloring for the webs.
- To make the yolk filling more festive, add a drop of red or orange food coloring for a pop of Halloween color. Or you can do like me and use an avocado to give it a green color.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator and serve within 24 hours.
🎃 Perfect for Halloween Parties
These Spider Web Deviled Eggs aren’t just eye-catching — they’re a fun kitchen project for kids and adults alike. Serve them alongside other Halloween treats like Spooky Eyeball Tacos or a Halloween Margarita Mocktail for the ultimate themed spread.
