How to Make On the Go Freezer Breakfast Sandwiches

Cook the Bacon and Sausage
Preheat your oven to 350°F.
Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Arrange the bacon on one pan and the sausage patties on the other.
Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the bacon is crisp and the sausage is fully cooked.

During the last few minutes of cooking, sprinkle the brown sugar over the bacon. Return it to the oven just long enough for the sugar to melt and caramelize. Remove both meats from the oven and allow them to cool.

Toast the English Muffins
Split each English muffin in half and place them under the broiler for a minute or two until they're lightly toasted.
This extra step helps keep the muffins from becoming soggy after freezing.
Cook the Eggs
Beat the eggs until well combined.
Pour the eggs into a lightly greased skillet over medium heat, spreading them evenly across the bottom of the pan.

Cook until completely set.
Using a biscuit cutter that's about the same size as your English muffins, cut out circles of egg for each sandwich.
Assemble the Sandwiches
Place either a sausage patty or slices of bacon on the bottom half of each toasted English muffin.

Top with an egg round and one slice of American cheese.
Place the sandwiches under the broiler for a minute until the cheese begins to melt.
Add the top half of the English muffin.
Allow the sandwiches to cool completely before wrapping.
How to Freeze Breakfast Sandwiches

Wrap each sandwich tightly in plastic wrap.
Then wrap again in aluminum foil.
Store the wrapped sandwiches in a freezer-safe bag or container for up to 6 months.
Double wrapping helps prevent freezer burn and keeps the sandwiches tasting fresh.

How to Reheat
When you're ready to enjoy one:
- Remove the plastic wrap and aluminum foil.
- Wrap the sandwich in a paper towel if desired.
- Microwave for about 1 minute, adding additional time if needed depending on your microwave.
You can also warm them in the air fryer or toaster oven for a crispier English muffin.
Easy Variations
One of the best things about freezer breakfast sandwiches is how customizable they are.
Try switching things up with:
- Pepper Jack, cheddar, Swiss, or Colby Jack cheese
- Ham instead of sausage or bacon
- Turkey sausage or turkey bacon
- Scrambled eggs with diced peppers and onions
- Spinach and mushrooms
- Everything bagel seasoning
- Hot sauce or spicy mayo after reheating
You can even make half sausage and half bacon so everyone gets their favorite.

Storage Tips
Store flat until frozen, then stack to save space.
Freeze for up to 6 months.
Let the sandwiches cool completely before wrapping.
Label the freezer bag with the date.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make these ahead for the entire month?
Absolutely! These sandwiches are perfect for monthly meal prep. Make a large batch on the weekend and enjoy breakfast all month long.
Why should I toast the English muffins first?
Toasting helps remove excess moisture so the muffins don't become soggy after freezing and reheating.
Can I use different cheeses?
Yes! American melts beautifully, but cheddar, provolone, mozzarella, Swiss, and Pepper Jack all work well.
Can I reheat them in the air fryer?
Yes. Heat at 350°F for about 6–8 minutes, flipping halfway through, until warmed through.
Do I have to wrap them twice?
Wrapping first in plastic wrap and then aluminum foil gives the best protection against freezer burn, especially if you're storing them for several months.
