The best part? You only need a handful of simple ingredients and about 10 minutes to make it from scratch. Once you try it this way, you’ll never go back to store-bought again.

I like to serve mine in this combination of chips and dip bowl that I found on Amazon.

How to Make My Easy Guacamole

Of course, guacamole starts with just a few simple ingredients — avocados, limes, cilantro, and I like to add in just a bit of my easy restaurant salsa

Here's a tip I learned: If you are not going to use all your avocado, leave the pit in the side you are not using. The pit will keep the avocado from turning brown!

Guacamole goes great on Mexican night with some of the favorites that I have made, like Pork Tacos, Fried Chicken Tacos, and Cheesy Chicken Enchiladas.

Mexican night at home is a great way to cut the price of your grocery bill. It is a very inexpensive meal you can fix at home. In our home, we make our own taco shells, put together our own taco seasoning mix, and make our own salsa. Mexican night in our house is truly a delicious night!

Tips for the Best Guacamole

  • Use ripe avocados – They should give slightly when pressed
  • Add lime juice first – This helps keep the avocados from browning
  • Seed your tomatoes – Keeps your guac from getting watery
  • Customize the heat – Add more cayenne or even jalapeños if you like it spicy

How to Store Guacamole

Guacamole is best eaten fresh, but if you need to store it:

  • Place plastic wrap directly on the surface to prevent air exposure
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge
  • Best eaten within 1–2 days

What to Serve with Guacamole

This guacamole pairs perfectly with:

  • Tortilla chips
  • Tacos or fajitas
  • Grilled chicken or steak
  • Burgers or sandwiches
