One of my favorite recipes that I have ever made is these Longhorn Steakhouse Brussels Sprouts.

They’re golden brown, deeply smoky, buttery, and slightly sweet with that irresistible crisp edge that keeps you reaching for just one more.

If you’ve ever dined at LongHorn Steakhouse, you already know — their crispy Brussels sprouts are not your average side dish. I love eating these with the Copycat Longhorn Steakhouse Bread, my appetizer of Copycat Longhorn Steakhouse White Cheddar Stuffed Mushrooms, and the main dish –Longhorn’s Parmesan Crusted Chicken.

Longhorn food is seriously my favorite, and I am ecstatic that I can make it at home. No more having to run to the restaurant when I get a craving! And these Longhorn Steakhouse Brussels Sprouts are EVERYTHING — trust me!

And yes, you can absolutely recreate that restaurant-style flavor at home. And honestly, once you make these, they may just become your new favorite way to serve Brussels sprouts.

Let’s make Longhorn Steakhouse Brussels Sprouts.

What Makes Longhorn Steakhouse Brussels Sprouts So Good?

It’s all about texture + flavor layering:

Longhorn Steakhouse Crispy Smoky Buttery Brussels Sprouts
  • ✔ Crispy, caramelized edges
  • ✔ Tender inside
  • ✔ Smoky seasoning
  • ✔ Rich buttery glaze
  • ✔ Slight touch of sweetness

That combination hits salty, smoky, buttery, and slightly sweet all in one bite.

Ingredients for Longhorn Brussels Sprouts

  • 1 (16-ounce) bag fresh Brussels sprouts
  • 2 tablespoons avocado oil or olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon chipotle powder
  • Salt, to taste

How to Make Longhorn Steakhouse Brussels Sprouts on the Stove

Step 1: Prep the Brussels Sprouts

Trim the ends and slice the Brussels sprouts in half lengthwise.

If loose outer leaves fall off — keep them. Those crisp up beautifully in the skillet.

Step 2: Sauté for Crispy Edges

Heat a large skillet (cast iron works beautifully) over medium-high heat.

Add:

  • 2 tablespoons avocado oil (or olive oil)

Place Brussels sprouts cut-side down in a single layer. Let them cook undisturbed for 5–7 minutes until deeply golden and caramelized.

Flip and continue cooking another 5–8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until fork-tender but still slightly crisp.

Step 3: Add the Butter & Flavor

Reduce the heat to medium-low.

Add:

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon chipotle powder
  • Salt to taste

Stir well so the butter coats every piece and the chipotle blooms in the hot fat. This is where that smoky steakhouse flavor comes in.

Step 4: Finish with Maple Sweetness

Drizzle in:

  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup

Stir and let everything cook another 2–3 minutes until the maple syrup thickens slightly and creates a glossy glaze.

You’ll see the edges darken and caramelize — that’s exactly what you want.

Remove from heat and serve immediately.

Tips for That Steakhouse Texture

  • Don’t overcrowd the pan — cook in batches if needed.
  • Let them sit cut-side down without stirring at first.
  • Cast iron gives the best sear.
  • Adjust Chipotle if you want more or less heat.
  • A tiny squeeze of lemon at the end brightens everything.

What These Longhorn Steakhouse Brussels Sprouts Taste Like

You get:

  • Crispy, caramelized edges
  • Deep smoky heat from the chipotle
  • Rich buttery coating
  • Sweet maple finish
  • Slight char that makes them addictive

It’s the perfect balance of sweet + smoky + buttery.

What to Serve With Them

These pair beautifully with:

  • Grilled steak
  • Burgers
  • Pork chops
  • Roasted chicken
  • Holiday dinners

Or honestly? Just eat them straight from the skillet as I do.
