Blackstone Griddle Chicken Wings

Whenever I think of making chicken wings, I think of oven-baked Sticky Asian Wings, which take a little bit to make.

But I learned this week that you can make chicken wings on the Blackstone and get them delicious and crispy without all the extra time involved in making them. Here's a super quick recipe!

How to Make Chicken Wings on the Blackstone

To make this recipe, you will need just a couple of ingredients- avocado oil or vegetable oil and your favorite seasoning and dipping sauce.

I got 3 pounds of chicken wings on sale at Sam's the other day, so I knew I was going to want to make these for dinner one night.

Pull the wings out of the package and dry them off with a paper towel. Now, throw them on a baking tray and drizzle on the avocado oil and your choice of seasoning. I found an interesting Orange Pepper seasoning while out shopping the other day, so that is what I used.

Toss the wings in the seasoning and avocado oil. Set aside while you prepare the griddle.

Turn the griddle up to high and melt one stick of butter on the hot griddle. Now, lay the wings out in a single layer and allow them to cook for 2-3 minutes per side.

Lower one side of the griddle down to 350 degrees and place a few of the wings on this side of the grill and cover with a griddle dome to allow them to cook and crisp for about 10 minutes. I did this in batches and it seemed to work great.

To keep the wings warm, I moved them back to the other side of the griddle while I cooked the next batch under the dome. This allowed all the wings to finish crisping up while cooking all the way through.

This method of cooking wings took me about 30 minutes in total and wound up being my favorite way I have made wings so far.

Cook Time 25 minutes
Total Time 35 minutes

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds of chicken wings, cut and tips discarded
  • Orange Pepper Seasoning
  • Avocado Oil
  • 1 stick of butter

Instructions

Preheat a Blackstone grill over medium-high heat (approximately 450 degrees Fahrenheit).
Dry the chicken with paper towels as much as possible and then put the wings in a large mixing bowl.
Add the avocado oil and Orange Pepper seasoning to the bowl and stir until all the wings are coated.

Melt the butter on the griddle and place the chicken wings directly on the top melted butter. Let the chicken sit for 2-3 minutes to brown it.
Flip the chicken and toss it with the butter to coat it with the butter as much as possible. Then allow the chicken to brown on the opposite side (2-3 more minutes).

Turn the left side of the griddle down to 350 degrees. Place some of the wings on this side under a dome and allow them to cook for 10 minutes, occasionally shaking. This will allow the wings to finish cooking and crisp them up all the way.

After 10 minutes, remove the wings and do the next batch.

Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
