How to Make This Iconic Copycat Chicken Sandwich

The best part about this sandwich, in my opinion, is the delicious crunchy breading on the outside.
Raising Cane’s Chicken Sandwich consists of a boneless chicken breast, perfectly spiced and fried until golden. Serve it on a soft brioche bun with veggies if you want and Cane’s signature dipping sauce.
I like my Chicken sandwich with just sauce and a side of pickles, but you can add whatever you want to your sandwich.

Ingredients You’ll Need To Make This Raising Cane’s Chicken Sandwich
To prepare this delicious sandwich, here’s what you’ll need:
- 4 buttery brioche buns
- 1 lb boneless chicken breast, pounded and flattened
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 4 tbsp of Cane’s signature dipping sauce
- lettuce and tomatoes (optional)
- 1/2 cup pickles, sliced
- 1 tbsp cayenne pepper

I like to let my chicken marinate in a cup of milk that has been seasoned with some of the spices. Then, when I dredge it, I let the chicken rest for about 15 minutes before frying it.
Step 1: Prepare the Flour
Mix the flour, smoked paprika, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper in a bowl. Mix well to create a seasoned flour. Set it aside.
Step 2: Coat the Chicken
Dredge the chicken in the seasoned flour mix. Ensure the chicken is fully coated. This is crucial for achieving that perfect crunch.
Step 3: Fry the Chicken
Heat oil in a deep skillet or frying pot like a dutch oven. Once the oil reaches 350°F, carefully add the coated chicken. Fry until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
If your chicken is not cooked through, simply place it in a 350-degree oven to finish cooking. This will prevent the chicken crust from getting burned.

How to Store the Leftovers
Store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It will last about 3-4 days. For best results, reheat in an oven or air fryer to retain that crispy texture.

Copycat Raising Cane's Chicken Sandwich

Raising Cane’s is a name that everyone knows. Among its most desirable offerings is the Chicken Sandwich.
Ingredients
- 4 buttery brioche buns
- 3 lbs boneless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 4 tbsp Cane’s signature dipping sauce
- lettuce and tomatoes, optional
- Sliced pickles (optional)
- 1 tbsp cayenne pepper
Instructions
Marinate the chicken in a buttermilk and seasoning mixture for a couple of hours before frying.
Combine flour, smoked paprika, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper in a bowl.
Remove the chicken from the buttermilk and then dredge the chicken in the seasoned flour mix. Coat each piece well.
Set the chicken on a plate to dry for about 15 minutes. This will cause the chicken skin to get extra crispy.
Heat oil in a deep skillet or frying pot. Once the oil reaches 350°F, carefully add the coated chicken. Fry until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes.
If the chicken is not done all the way, place it in a 350-degree oven to finish cooking. This will keep the outside of the chicken from browning too much in the oil.
Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
While the chicken is frying, lightly toast the brioche buns on a skillet with melted butter until golden. This adds a buttery flavor and prevents sogginess.
Add your chicken and top with your favorite toppings as well as the Raising Canes sauce.
Serve immediately while hot.
